    • An image classifying apparatus may include a database constructor which constructs database by detecting face region from received classification target image, extracting face feature descriptor from detected face region, extracting a costume feature descriptor using position information of detected face region, and storing face feature descriptor and costume feature descriptor in database, a first processor which generates representative image model by comparing face feature descriptor and costume feature descriptor of classification target image stored in database based on a received representative image to search for a similar image and registering similar image in a representative image model for each person, and second processor which compares additional information of representative image stored in representative image model for each person and additional information of classification target image stored in database and classifies image for each person based on similarity measured by adding up weights corresponding to similarities according to comparison results.

    • An image searching method includes: resizing an input image in question; generating 3D image identifiers for the resized input image in question; and performing an image search for the input image in question by using the 3D image identifiers. Said resizing an input image includes: extracting a black-and-white image and a color image from the input image in question; resizing the black-and-white image; and resizing the color image. Said generating 3D image identifiers includes: extracting an MGST feature of the input image in question; extracting an angular partition feature of the input image in question; and extracting a color feature of the input image in question. Further, said performing an image search includes: calculating similarity between representative colors of the input image in question and a reference image; and if the similarity is above a predetermined level, matching the 3D image identifiers for the two images.

    • Provided is a method of selecting test stimuli for use in evaluating performance of a video watermarking algorithm, including the steps of: calculating an image complexity rate (ICR) for each of a plurality of test stimulus candidates and classifying them into L (where L is an integer more than or equal to 2) levels based on the calculated ICR values; calculating an energy distribution rate (EDR) for each of the plurality of test stimulus candidates, and classifying them into M (where M is an integer more than or equal to 2) levels based on the calculated EDR values; calculating a motion rate (MR) for each of the plurality of test stimulus candidates and classifying them into N (where N is an integer more than or equal to 2) levels of the calculated MR values; and selecting at least one test stimulus from each of the L levels, M levels, the N levels of the test stimuli, respectively.

    • A surface inspecting apparatus comprises an image achieving unit for achieving an image of a surface of an object; and a controller for providing the symmetry feature of the spot or contaminant by using the magnitude of the intensity gradient and the orientation of the intensity gradient for each pixel of the achieved surface image to thereby detect a spot or contaminant on the surface.
