The rotation mechanism is enabled during the time-on interval, and disabled during the time-off interval, the time-on interval and time-off interval are repeated indefinitely to create a mixing duty cycle. The rotation speed of the turntable disk is adjusted by the speed controller.

    • A safety circuit for use in low-voltage systems improves safety of and additional features to low-voltage connections. When incorporated into a battery, the circuit leaves the battery disconnected from the low-voltage system until it determines that it is safe to make a connection. When the safety circuit determines that no unsafe conditions exist and that it is safe to connect the battery, the safety circuit may connect the battery by way of a “soft start” that provides a connection over a period of time that reduces or prevents inductive voltage spikes on the low-voltage system. A method is used for detection of proper polarity of the connections between the battery and the low-voltage system. When incorporated into a jumper cable, the safety circuit provides communication abilities, can provide test abilities, and improves connection safety and functionality, such as allowing transfer of power between low-voltage systems having different voltages.

    • A safety outlet that prevents hazardous conditions is described. Embodiments of the outlet use safe low-voltage DC power to check and ensure that an appliance is plugged into the outlet, that the appliance does not have short circuits or ground faults, and that the appliance is switched on. Some embodiments warn of unsafe conditions. Until the safety checks are performed and satisfactorily passed, embodiments of the outlet keep the AC power turned off and isolated from the outlet. Only then is the receptacle powered, after which the appliance can be used normally. Once the appliance is switched off, the power at the outlet is also turned off automatically. When an appliance is in use, some embodiments of the invention continue providing ground fault protection using GFCI technology. All this is performed automatically and quickly, nearly imperceptibly in normal use. Some embodiments may be integrated with external control systems.

    • An automatic archiving system makes document archiving largely transparent to the user. In one embodiment, documents scanned in or printed during the course of office equipment operation are automatically archived. When a document is copied, printed, or faxed, a document image is archived by the document management workstation without further user intervention. A single user command results in the document being copied and archived, printed and archived, or faxed and archived. In accordance with a first aspect, an image processing device includes a receiving means for receiving a single input, a printing means, a memory device, and a communication means for communicating with said memory device. Responsive to receiving said single input requesting the printing of a document by said receiving means, said printing means prints the document and said communication means sends image data representing said document to said memory device.
