    • One embodiment of the invention provides a fully distributed, scaleable and modular rack architecture and management system. One feature of the invention provides device management throughout the rack system with a vertical interface column integrated into the rack cabinet. Within each rack unit (U) of the vertical interface column, the vertical interface column may deliver connectivity to a device housed within the rack cabinet thereby eliminating runs of cable typically necessary for management of such devices. The vertical interface column can be expanded as necessary to provide connectivity to more devices using hot-swappable interface modules. A rack management system allows both local and remote management access to all devices mounted in the rack cabinet and coupled to the vertical interface column. The rack management system may also access to devices mounted in other rack cabinets.

    • The present invention provides systems and methods for reducing the ‘cold start’ TTFF of navigation receivers. The systems and methods receive geographical information from a user, such as the nearest city, state or country, and use this geographical information to approximate the position of the receiver. The systems and methods then make use of the approximate position to reduce the ‘cold start’ TTFF. In an embodiment, the approximate position of the receiver is determined from a co-ordinate database in the receiver based on the geographical information provided by the user. In another embodiment, a user provides geographical information to the receiver through a displayed map with several stages of zooming capability.

    • Flexible mounting devices for navigational/entertainment displays, especially for in-vehicle use, are described herein. In an embodiment, the flexible mounting device comprises a flexible gooseneck, a magnetic base magnetically attached to a front end of the gooseneck for holding a display, and a windshield suction attached to a back end of the gooseneck for providing windshield support from the rear by suctioning to the windshield of a vehicle. In another embodiment, the flexible mounting device comprises a flexible neck, which may be firmly attached to the dashboard of a vehicle with a sticky gel pad. The mounting device also comprises a counter weight attached to a back end of the flexible neck. The display is fixed to a front end of the flexible neck such that the display protrudes beyond the dashboard. The counter weight at the back end of the flexible neck counter balances the weight of the display at the front end, and thereby helps to provide a stable support.

    • A miniaturized ice water cooling circulatory system includes an ice water tank having a drowned water pump disposed therein for pumping and conveying refrigerant into the ice water tank to convert the water in the ice water tank into ice water to be conveyed out for cooling off the heating elements in a computer mainframe. After the heating elements are cooled off, the ice water is converted into cold water to be conveyed back into the ice water tank, thus attaining effect of cooling circulation. The drowned water pump is positioned in the ice water tank so the volume of the cooling circulatory system can be diminished for facilitating the cooling circulatory system to be assembled in a computer mainframe for carrying out heat dissipation for the heating elements, having excellent effect in heat dissipation.
