    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide iron powder for a powder magnetic core, which is used in manufacturing the powder magnetic core having not only high magnetic flux density and high insulation properties but also high strength.
      SOLUTION: This iron powder for the powder magnetic core has a phosphate containing aluminum or a phosphate compound, coated on the surface; and has a particle size distribution, by sieved mass% using a sieve set defined in JIS Z 8801-1, adjusted to contain 40% or less powders with such particle sizes as not to pass through a sieve with a nominal size of 180 μm but as to pass through a sieve with the nominal size of 1 mm, 15% to 60% powders with such particle sizes as not to pass through a sieve with the nominal size of 150 μm but as to pass through a sieve with the nominal size of 180 μm, 10% to 60% powders with such particle sizes as not to pass through a sieve with the nominal size of 106 μm but as to pass through a sieve with the nominal size of 150 μm, 3% to 20% powders with such particle sizes as not to pass through a sieve with the nominal size of 75 μm but as to pass through a sieve with the nominal size of 106 μm, and 15% or less powders with such particle sizes as to pass through a sieve with the nominal size of 75 μm.
