    • A front passenger seat airbag apparatus 12 includes an airbag 15, a case 25 supporting the airbag 15, and an airbag cover 50 covering the airbag 15. The case 25 includes a tubular inner wall portion 29. A plurality of claw portions 37 are arranged along a vehicle widthwise direction on the upper edge of a front inner wall 31 and a rear inner wall 32 of the tubular inner wall portion 29. The airbag cover 50 includes a tubular outer wall portion 53 having a plurality of engaging holes 57. The tubular outer wall portion 53 is engaged with the case 25 by inserting and engaging the claw portions 37 in the engaging holes 57. The front inner wall 31 and the rear inner wall 32 each include connected portions 66, to each of which a claw portion 37 is connected, and non-connected portions 65, to which no claw portion 37 is connected, along the arrangement direction of the claw portions 37. Two non-connected portions 65 are located on both sides of each connected portion 66. At least one of the non-connected portions 65 has cutout portions 61, 62 that extend from the upper end of the corresponding inner wall to a position lower than the tips 37A of the claw portions 37.

The data to be distributed is transmitted from a center station of the satellite data distribution system to a satellite. The data is distributed from the satellite to the base station unit of the mobile communication system. Then, the data is distributed from the base station unit to the subscribers via the mobile communication system. Thus, a satellite data reception unit is not necessarily provided to each of the subscribers.

    • An airbag system for a front passenger's seat of the top-mount type according to the invention is arranged in an instrument panel below a windshield. The front passenger's seat airbag system is constructed to include a door, a case and an airbag. The door is arranged on the upper face of the instrument panel. The case houses and holds the airbag in a folded state. The airbag, as housed in the case, is expanded by injecting an inflating gas into a gas inlet port so that the airbag protrudes to open the door and inflate towards the rear side of a vehicle along the windshield. The airbag is equipped with a commutator cloth arranged to cover the gas inlet port. This commutator cloth it arranged to close the two sides in the transverse direction of the vehicle and to open the two sides in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. This front passenger's seat airbag system reduces the expansion rate of the airbag towards the rear of the vehicle.

    • In a passenger seat air bag system, when inflating gas is made to flow through a gas inlet into an air bag folded, received and fixed in a case in order to unfold and inflate the air bag, the air bag opens a door disposed in an instrument panel, projects therefrom, and inflates toward the rear side of a vehicle. A cover portion of a flow control cloth is provided inside the air bag so as to cover the gas inlet so that the cover portion closes the opposite sides of the gas inlet in the right/left direction of the vehicle while the cover portion leaves the opposite sides of the gas inlet in the front/rear direction of the vehicle open. The cover portion of the flow control cloth is disposed so that its center in the front/rear direction of the vehicle is shifted from the center of the gas inlet toward the rear side of the vehicle. The air bag is folded, received and fixed in the case so that its ceiling wall portion opposite to the gas inlet is disposed close to the gas inlet, while the air bag is transversely folded so that its front and rear edges are disposed close the vicinity of the center, and while the air bag is longitudinally folded so that its left and right edges are disposed close to the vicinity of the center. The front portion of the air bag is folded in the form of bellows in the state where the front edge is folded back on the ceiling wall portion side so as to lap over the ceiling wall portion when the air bag is folded transversely.

    • A device for detecting and measuring the concentration of a gas in a mixture of gas such as oxygen in the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine and circuits for using that measurement to control the air-fuel ratio supplied to the engine. The detecting device has two separate gas residence chamber with different diffusion resistance openings for each chamber and separate pairs of electrodes for each chamber whereby the measurement can be separately made in each chamber. The particular chamber selected for measurement may be done on the basis of whether the air-fuel ratio is lean or rich whereby a substantially linear reading results for all ratios or on the basis of the transition-state or steady-state operating condition of the engine to provide either more rapid or more accurate readings. Further, by using the cells from both chambers to compare their readings and standards, the actual readings can be corrected for abnormalties that may occur after a period of use or to indicate the detector has become defective.

    • An oxygen concentration detection device having a pair of oxygen pump units includes an oxygen-ion conductive solid electrolyte member a surface of which faces a gas retaining chamber. A measuring gas is introduced through a gas restricted region into the gas retaining chamber. The solid electrolyte member is provided with two pairs of electrodes respectively supplied with a pair of pump currents generated by a current supply circuit. The magnitude of the pump current flowing between the electrodes of one of two pairs of electrodes is controlled so that the voltage difference across the electrodes of the other one of the two pairs of electrodes is maintained at a level corresponding to a reference level. The oxygen concentration in the gas retaining chamber is detected in terms of a sum value of pump currents flowing through the two pairs of electrodes.
