摘要： An apparatus and method for positioning a pilot in a transmitter for an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) mobile communication system. In the apparatus, a consecutive block assignment determiner determines whether it will assign a consecutive block or a single block in a frequency axis or a time axis. A pilot tone pattern generator determines a pilot pattern in the block by applying a predetermined rule according to the determination result. A pilot tone inserter positions pilots in the block based on the determined pilot pattern.

The method includes determining whether transmission of the ACK/NACK is for a first layer or for layers higher than the first layer; and when the transmission of the ACK/NACK is for layers higher than the first layer, transmitting the reverse ACK/NACK by allocating resources to the higher layers with a quantity different from that of the first layer.

摘要： A Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) expression and feedback method prevents an excessive increase in the CQI feedback overhead while supporting both Single-User MIMO and Multi-User MIMO operations. When a default MIMO operation is set to Single-User MIMO or Multi-User MIMO, an access network can receive MIMO CQI feedback optimized for the corresponding MIMO operation. However, when a scheduler has selected an alternative MIMO operation other than the default MIMO operation, the access network calculates a CQI necessary for the alternative MIMO operation based on the default MIMO CQI feedback for the default MIMO operation and the DELTA CQI feedback for the alternative MIMO operation. In this manner, the invention enables the best operation in the default MIMO operation by providing a correct CQI, and enables the second best operation in the alternative MIMO operation. With use of the invention, the access network can dynamically select the Single-User MIMO and Multi-User MIMO operations, contributing to an increase in the resource management efficiency.

摘要： A Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) expression and feedback method prevents an excessive increase in the CQI feedback overhead while supporting both Single-User MIMO and Multi-User MIMO operations. When a default MIMO operation is set to Single-User MIMO or Multi-User MIMO, an access network can receive MIMO CQI feedback optimized for the corresponding MIMO operation. 摘要： A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a control channel message in a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) mobile communication system are provided, in which a control channel message generator generates a pilot/MIMO field indicating at least one of a pilot format, a MIMO transmission rank being a number of transmission layers for transmitting encoded packet streams, and precoding information for MIMO data transmission, and outputs a control channel message including the pilot/MIMO field, and a transmission module converts the control channel message to a radio signal and transmits the radio signal to an MS. In the case of using common pilots for data demodulation and at least one of knock-down precoding and ready-made precoding for the MIMO transmission, the pilot/MIMO field includes information about the at least one precoding. In the case of dedicated pilots for data demodulation, the pilot/MIMO field indicates a format of the dedicated pilots.

The message reception apparatus receives the shared control channel message from a base station; determines a message type of the shared control channel message; and if the message type is a Transmit Diversity (TD)-Forward Link Assignment Message (FLAM), demodulates data by at least one of Single Input Single Output (SISO) and Spatial Time Transmit Diversity (STTD) as indicated by the TD-FLAM.

摘要： A transmission/reception apparatus for transmitting packet data in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system. The apparatus includes a transmission module for generating a frame of an OFDM symbol including pilot tones using the packet data, and transmitting the frame to a wireless network; and a controller for changing at least one of a Pilot-to-Data Ratio (PDR) of the pilot tones and a density of the pilot tones based on a length of the frame. The reception apparatus includes a reception module for receiving a frame of an OFDM symbol including pilot tones from a wireless network, extracting the pilot tone from the received frame, performing channel estimation thereon, and demodulating the packet data; and a controller for receiving at least one of a PDR of the pilot tone and a density of the pilot tone, both of which are in proportion to a length of the frame, and controlling the reception module so that the channel estimation is performed, based on the received information.
