    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stress corrosion crack prevention method of a reactor in-core structure capable of applying a sufficient compression stress (with the depth of 1 mm or more) for stress corrosion crack prevention, and removing a hardened layer generated by mechanical processing or grinder processing.
      SOLUTION: Cooling liquid containing abrasive is jetted onto the high-temperature reactor in-core structure surface, or the high-temperature reactor in-core structure is dipped into a water tank wherein the cooling liquid containing the abrasive is agitated, to thereby attain this surface reforming method. To put it concretely, a steep temperature gradient is generated inside the plate thickness of the reactor in-core structure by the effect of the cooling water, and plastic deformation is generated, to thereby secure sufficient compressive stress depth. Also, the hardened layer on the reactor in-core structure surface can be abraded and removed by the effect of the abrasive. Since the sufficient compressive stress depth can be secured to the reactor in-core structure and the hardened layer can be removed, the stress corrosion crack of the reactor in-core structure can be prevented.
