    • A power supply device includes: a magnetic-coupling-type multi-phase converter having first and second chopper circuits that respectively adjust respective currents flowing in first and second reactors magnetically coupled to each other, and performing voltage conversion between a DC power supply and a load; and a control circuit. The control circuit includes a determination unit and a current control unit. The determination unit determines whether the temperature of the power supply is lower than a reference temperature. In the case where the power supply temperature is lower than the reference temperature, the current control unit uses a value determined by adding an offset amount to a detected value of the reactor current to set a duty command value for the first chopper circuit and uses a detected value of the reactor current to set a duty command value for the second chopper circuit.

    • A torque command (Tht) used in the calculation of a voltage command (Vht) of a voltage-up converter is generated by adding an upper limit value value (Tc_max) of damping control that can be set by a motor drive device with a target drive torque (Tbt). Accordingly, the torque command (Tht) exhibits a waveform absent of variation, differing from a torque command (Tcmd) that is generated by adding damping torque generated based on revolution count variation component with the target drive torque (Tbt). Therefore, the voltage command (Vht) calculated based on the torque command (Tht) exhibits a waveform absent of variation. Accordingly, increase in current passing through the voltage-up converter caused by variation in the voltage command (Vht) can be suppressed. As a result, power loss at the voltage-up converter is reduced and operation of the motor at high efficiency can be realized. Further, the voltage-up converter can be protected from element fracture.

    • A vehicle driving apparatus that operates a motor generator efficiently for improving driving comfort. The apparatus includes a motor generator and a connecting mechanism. The connecting mechanism connects the motor generator to an auxiliary device and selectively connects the motor generator to the engine. When the engine is maintained in an automatically stopped state, the motor generator is disconnected from the engine and drives the auxiliary device. When the engine stopping condition is satisfied, the motor generator rotates an engine drive shaft, thus suppressing vibration otherwise caused by stopping of the engine. When the engine starting condition is satisfied, the motor generator rotates the engine drive shaft to generate force to move the vehicle. In this state, the engine is started. When the vehicle is moving, the motor generator generates power through the engine.
