    • Cogranulates of high bulk density which easily disintegrate in water and comprise aluminosilicates and crystalline sodium silicates having a layered structure. The aluminosilicates contained therein are those of the formula M.sub.2/n O.Al.sub.2 O.sub.3. XSiO.sub.2. yH.sub.2 O in which M is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal, n indicates the valency of the cation, x is.gtoreq.2 and y has a value of between 0 and 8. The sodium silicates have an SiO.sub.2 /Na.sub.2 O ratio of (1.8 to 4.2):1. These cogranulates are prepared by mixing the pulverulent aluminosilicates and sodium silicates with one another and introducing the mixture into a zone in which it is compacted between two rolls rotating in opposite directions to form a compact. After comminution of the compact, the desired particle sizes are finally separated off from the oversize and undersize material. The cogranulates can be used in detergents and cleaning agents.

    • A process for the preparation of crystalline sodium silicates with a molar ratio SiO.sub.2 /Na.sub.2 O of 1.9:1 to 3.5:1 from amorphous sodium silicate is described. To water-containing amorphous sodium silicate with a molar ratio SiO.sub.2 /Na.sub.2 O of 1.7:1 to 3.75:1 and a water content of 5 to 95% by weight is added 0.01 to 30 parts by weight of the crystalline sodium silicate to be prepared (per 100 parts by weight of Na.sub.2 O+SiO.sub.2 in the water-containing amorphous sodium silicate).The reaction mixture is dehydrated by heating. The dehydrated reaction mixture is kept at a temperature of at least 450.degree. C., but below the melting point, until the sodium silicate has crystallized.

    • A process for the preparation of a crystalline sheet-type alkali metal silicate is described, in which an aqueous solution of an alkali metal silicate or a suspension of an amorphous alkali metal silica having a molar ratio M.sub.2 O (unneutralized)/SiO.sub.2, where M represents an alkali metal, of 0.05:1 to 0.8:1 is allowed to react at temperatures of 70.degree. to 250.degree. C. until the sheet-type alkali metal silicate crystallizes out. After the beginning of crystallization, an acidic compound is added in an amount such that an M.sub.2 O (unneutralized)/SiO.sub.2 ratio of 0.05:1 to 0.8:1 is constantly maintained in the mother liquor of a filtered sample. However, at least an amount corresponding to 5 milliequivalents of H.sup.+ per mole of SiO.sub.2 in the alkali metal silicate used is added. The use of seed crystals of the desired sheet silicate is advantageous.
