摘要： PURPOSE:To readily provide a cathode-ray tube having a phosphor film of high packing density by forming a viscous film on the inner surface of the face plate of the cathode-ray tube, forming layers of phosphor particles on the film, and fixing the layers of phosphor particles while increasing the packing density through vibration or the like. CONSTITUTION:A deliquescent inorganic compound (e.g. zinc chloride) is mixed with a water soluble polymer (e.g. polyvinyl alcohol) to manufacture a viscous liquid. The viscous liquid is applied to the inner surface of the face plate 21 of a cathode-ray tube to form a viscous film. Next, layers of phosphor particles are formed on the viscous film and the packing density of the layers of phosphor particles is increased by a vibrating method, etc. Adhesive properties are provided between the face plate 21 and one layer of phosphor particles and between the layers of phosphor particles and thereby the layers of phosphor particles are fixed so as to form a phosphor film 22. Then an Al-evaporated film 23 is formed by a normal method and baking is performed and a neck tube 24 and an electron gun 25 are mounted to manufacture a cathode-ray tube.
