    • PURPOSE: To prevent the front part of a load-carrying platform from floating at the time of no-load starting, in a walking-type small motor-driven carrier provided with the load-carrying platform for loading an object to be carried, by fitting an adjusting function for moving the installation position of a battery case forward and backward according to the weight of an object to be loaded. CONSTITUTION: This small motor-driven carrier is provided with a pair of right and left caster type front wheels and rear wheels serving as driving wheels, mounted on the bottom of a load-carrying platform, and a handle 4 mounted on one end part of the top of the load-carrying platform. On the upper part of the handle 4, a battery case 5 which builds a controller and a battery in it is disposed. On the upper part of the battery case 5, a speed controller and a forward/backward change-over switch is provided. The battery case 5 is constructed so as to be oscillatingly-supported against a horizontal bar of the handle 4 and to fix its lower part at a prescribed oscillating position by bolting through a traveling bracket 5g provided with an arc-shaped guide groove.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start a motor-driven carrier even when the capacity of the main battery which supplies power for driving the motor for driving the carrier drops by switching the power source to an auxiliary battery. SOLUTION: A power source circuit 16 and main control circuit 17 are operated by turning on an operation switch 2 and a voltage signal is outputted to the control circuit 17 by changing a speed setting volume 1. When a motor is started, the X section of the control circuit 17 detects the terminal voltage of a main battery 4 and, when the detected voltage reaches the voltage corresponding to that which is reached when the 50% of the rated capacity of the battery 4 is discharged, switches the contact of a relay 15 from a contact 15a for the battery 4 to a contact 15b for a standby battery 4a. In order to indicate the operating states of the batteries 4 and 4a, LEDs 20 and 21 are respectively connected to the contacts 15a and 15b so that the operating states of the batteries 4 and 4a can be monitored. In such a way, the power source to the motor 4 is switched to the standby battery 4a before the main battery 4 runs down when the capacity of the battery 4 drops.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of an excess of a loading weight or the like and to ensure safety traveling by reading signals from an object detecting sensor and a piezoelectric sensor and stopping a carrier. CONSTITUTION: It is detected by an object detecting sensor 10 that the height of cargoes loaded on a load-carrying platform is equal to, or exceeds a given value. When the above-mentioned condition is detected, 5V is outputted from an object detecting sensor processing circuit 12 to an OR circuit 14, and when the above-mentioned condition is not detected, OV is outputted. Simultaneously, the weight of cargoes loaded on a load-carrying platform is detected by a piezoelectric sensor 11 arranged on the under surface of the load-carrying platform. 5V is outputted to an OR circuit 14 to detect a rated weight or more and when weight is below the rated weight, OV is outputted. The OR circuit 14 outputs 5V to a main control circuit 15 when 5V is outputted from either the object detecting sensor processing circuit 12 or a piezoelectric sensor processing circuit 13, but does not effect a duty output to the gate side of an FET16 and stops a motor 9. In this way, when either of them is detected, the motor 9 is stopped to ensure safety.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent gas explosion in an electric carrier having a battery and a controller stored in a common case by providing a partition for isolating the battery from the controller, and discharging explosive gas generated from the battery at the time of charging the battery to the outside through an air vent hole. CONSTITUTION: A small-sized electric carrier is so constructed that when a power supply switch 11 is turned on, electric power is supplied from a battery 8 to a travelling motor through a controller 9 to rotate a driving wheel. In the above carrier, at the time of charging the battery 8, the power supply switch 11 is turned off, and a connector of a charger is connected to a charging connector 12 to charge the battery. At this time, though explosive gaseous hydrogen is generated from the battery 8, the gaseous hydrogen rises in a battery box 7 to be transmitted to a partition 14 between the battery 8 and the controller 9 and discharged from an air vent hole 13 formed on the side surface. That is, gaseous hydrogen can be prevented from flowing into a contact or the like of the controller 9 and the power supply switch 11 by the partition 14 so as to heighten the safety.
