    • A picture transmission system is provided that provides a solution to drops in picture quality. A multiplexing unit (11) multiplexes N pictures in display order to generate a multiplexed picture. A transmission unit (12) transmits the multiplexed picture. A frame memory (23) delays pictures in the multiplexed picture that is received by a reception unit (21) by a one-frame interval of the pictures (one subframe interval) to generate reference pictures. With each reception of a picture in the multiplexed picture by the reception unit (21), an OD arithmetic unit (25) converts the picture element value of the picture (object picture) based on the reference picture to generate an OverDrive picture. A time-division display apparatus (3) displays the OverDrive pictures.

    • An image display device is provided with an image memory for storing a first image as a target secret image; a synthesizing section for time-multiplexing the stored first image and a second image obtained by reversely converting the luminance of the first image; and an image display section for displaying the time-multiplexed image. An optical shutter which transmits light at the time of displaying the first image is arranged to the synthesizing section. The image display device is also provided with a display characteristic detecting section which fetches information regarding to the display characteristics of the image display section, and an image converting section which converts the first image into the second image, based on the fetched display characteristics of the image display section. Thus, the image display device effectively shields image display from a third party, even when the display characteristics of the the image display section are changed.

    • An output circuit, a digital/analog conversion circuit and a display apparatus can reduce the number of required input voltages and the number of transistors to save the necessary area. The output circuit and the digital/analog conversion circuit comprise a selection circuit for receiving as input a plurality of (m) reference voltages having mutually different respective voltage values, selecting two of the voltages according to a selection signal and outputting them and an amplifier circuit for receiving as input the voltages output from the selection circuit at two input terminals T1, T2 and outputting the voltage obtained by interpolating the voltage difference of the two input terminal voltages V(T1), V(T2) to a predetermined ratio. It may alternatively be so arranged that the selection circuit sequentially outputs the selected two voltages and the amplifier circuit sequentially receives as two input the two voltages and outputs the output voltage obtained by interpolation.
