    • PURPOSE:To enable accurate connection between plugs by inserting a positioning pin, provided at a head side elevation body around a movable plug, into a reference hole on the end face plate side at the time of moving the movable plug to a desired fixed plug so as to perform positioning with certain accuracy prior to highly accurate positioning performed by a positioning means. CONSTITUTION:A positioning pin 5 performs positioning in the Z direction with comparatively rough accuracy prior to accurate positioning performed by a positioning means 6. This positioning pin 5 is formed to protrude slightly longer than the fitting pin of a movable plug 17 and also to be fittingly inserted into a reference hole 1d bored on the end face plate 1a side. The positioning means 6 performs the accurate Z-direction positioning of the movable plug 17 in relation to the fixed plug 7, and that this positioning is highly accurate one performed after the position confirmation made by the positioning pin 5 to a certain degree. The movable plug 17 can be thereby connected accurately to an optional fixed plug 7, and the damage or the like of the plug caused by a connection error can be prevented effectively.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical parts mounting filter, which can insert a filter between optical fibers if need, by freely inserting the optical filter by means of the micro displacement of a piezoelectric actuator. SOLUTION: The optical filter 30 inserted into a slit 20 can freely be inserted by the micro displacement of the piezoelectric actuator 40. A wide bimorph-type piezo-element (piezoelectric/electrostriction ceramics) with a satisfactory temperature characteristic is used for the piezoelectric actuator 40. When the polarity of DC voltage applied on the piezoelectric actuator 40 is changed, the piezoelectric actuator 40 bends, the tip vertically changes and the optical filter 30 is inserted between the optical fibers 10. When it is assumed that two wavelengths A and B (1.31μm and 1.55μm) exist in incident light and a long wavelength transmission type is used for the optical filter 30, for example, the light of 1.31μm and 1.55μm is caused to pass at the time of extracting the optical filter 30, and the light A of the wavelength 1.31μm is intercepted and the light B of the wavelength 1.55μm is caused to pass at the time of inserting the optical filter 30.

    • PURPOSE:To realize 1XN optical switches by taking advantage of the characteristic of optical switches formed by using V-grooves that these switches do not require positioning devices and can, therefore, be miniaturized. CONSTITUTION:Substrates 10, 30 having plural pieces of the V-grooves are disposed to face each other. A substrate 70 for aligning is disposed in front of the lower substrate 10 and is provided with the V-grooves 71 to 75. Optical fibers 21 to 25 are previously fixed to these grooves. An optical fiber 40 for switching fitted with a magnetic material 42 is inserted into the arbitrary V- groove of the lower substrate 10 and is held butted against arbitrary one piece of the stationary optical fibers. Both right and left sides of the upper substrate 30 are provided with electromagnets 81, 82. The rear surface of the lower substrate is provided with a permanent magnet 84 and an electromagnet 83 which temporarily eliminates the attraction force of this permanent magnet. The optical fiber 40 for switching is moved to the desired V-groove by proper on and off of the electromagnets 81 to 83 and is made to turn on with one piece of the stationary optical fibers 21 to 25. This state is assured by the permanent magnet 84.
