    • A housing of a female connector has an accommodating space, an opening, and lock stoppers. The accommodating space retains a mating connector, and accommodates a slide lock member and a resilient member. The accommodating space is arranged close to a terminal accommodating chamber so as to be slidable in an engaging direction, the terminal accommodating chamber allowing a connecting terminal to be inserted thereinto. The slide lock member is biased during disengaging operation. The opening is arranged on part of the accommodating space and causes part of the slide lock member to be exposed. The lock stopper is arranged on a side surfaces of the accommodating space and suppresses movement of the mating connector. The slide lock member has a flexible disengaging arm that has a separating projection. The separating projection is pressed during the disengaging operation.

    • A connector fitting construction in which a half-fitted condition is positively prevented when fitting a pair of male and female connectors together, and the fitting operation and a fitting release operation can be effected easily, and a connector housing can be formed into a small size. In this connector fitting construction, the male connector includes a connector housing, and an exclusive-use housing forming a slider receiving portion for receiving a slider therein. Guide grooves for respectively guiding opposite side portions of a body of the slider are formed respectively in opposite side portions of the exclusive-use housing. A lock arm, provided at a central portion of the exclusive-use housing, includes a lock beak having a slanting surface, and a housing lock formed on a lower surface thereof at a front end thereof, and side spaces are provided respectively on opposite sides of the lock arm. The slider has a slider arm provided in the slider body, the slider arm having a pair of abutment projections. The female connector includes a pair of stopper projections, which are formed on a housing, and abut respectively against the abutment projections when the two connectors are fitted together, a slanting projection having a slanting surface, and an engagement groove.

    • A hermetic terminal cover is arranged to be mounted onto a hermetic terminal of, such as, a closed-type compressor. The hermetic terminal cover has terminal caps for covering respective terminal strips of the hermetic terminal. Each terminal strip includes a terminal pin fixedly passing through a metallic base with an insulator interposed therebetween. The terminal caps are mutually connected by flexible ribs each having a curved shape, and preferably an arc shape. Accordingly, each terminal cap has a high degree of positional or displacement freedom to facilitate mounting of the terminal cap onto the corresponding terminal strip. Further, each terminal cap has an increased thickness at a portion corresponding to an exposed surface of the insulator holding the terminal pin. Accordingly, adverse affection of metallic powders, such as, generation of short circuits and sparks between the terminal pins and the metallic base is effectively prevented.
