摘要： A method for operating a marine engine uses four valves to control the flow of secondary air that is inducted into each of the cylinders of an engine. An oxygen sensor is disposed in an exhaust passage downstream from the cylinders and upstream from a catalytic converter. A carburetor is calibrated to provide a richer than stoichiometric air/fuel ratio so that inducted secondary air through the valves associated with each cylinder can result in a stoichiometric ratio of air flowing into each cylinder. The cylinders are each provided with their own valve in order to allow the air/fuel ratios to be equalized for each cylinder regardless of the configuration and geometry of the intake manifold and its associated conduits.

In order to shorten the delay until emission control begins after the engine is started, a first catalytic converter is located in the exhaust line downstream from the turbocharger which is always traversed by the exhaust. Downstream of the turbocharger, a second catalytic converter is arranged that is traversed by exhaust only temporarily, with the second catalytic converter being traversed only until the exhaust system has reached a predetermined temperature.

摘要： Pivotable guide blades are arranged in an exhaust gas turbocharger in front of the turbine wheel inlet for charge pressure control in, for example, an internal combustion engine. These guide blades are moved by an adjusting ring so that an adaptation of the charge pressure takes place to the exhaust gas which rises with the rotational speed of the engine. When the rotational speed is further increased, the exhaust gas blow-off takes place by way of an integrated blow-off device. The guide blades and the blow-off device are actuated by a single actuator.
