    • A method and system for coordinated dynamic access to radio spectrum for wireless networking includes defining a coordinated access band (CAB) from which radio access network (RAN) managers may request spectrum allocations in the form of time bound spectrum leases for their respective requesting base stations. In one embodiment of the present invention, a DIMSUMnet architecture is implemented to make some fundamental choices and to centralize the collection of information, such as spectral occupancy, thermal and adjacent frequency interference. Such collected information is subsequently used by a spectrum broker in making spectrum allocation decisions. The DIMSUMnet architecture of the present invention also introduces a RAN manager element to centralize the task of acquiring time bound spectrum leases and for configuring the base stations.

    • A system and method for network based detection of wireless data subscribers using network address translation devices is provided. The method includes identifying a minimum number of devices showing the same internet protocol address. Packet identification sequences may include port numbers or internet protocol identification numbers. The method continues with grouping these applications by their packet identification sequences and applying detection logic where detection logic yields a conclusion that there are multiple host computers when a set of applications appears in a plurality of packet identification sequences. This method is particularly useful when internet protocol addresses are dynamic, as opposed to static. This method overcomes previous embodiments known in the art by being able to account for and work with live traffic, which enables real time detection.

    • A method and system for providing configurable data services for mobile stations allows mobile stations to select the type and content of data messages addressed to a mobile station. The method includes establishing an active profile associated with a corresponding mobile station. A wireless data server receives a data message addressed to the mobile station. The active profile for the mobile station is accessed to determine applicable stored profile attributes for the mobile station to which the received data message is addressed. The wireless data server detects received profile attributes associated with the received data message. Filtering is applied to the received data message in real-time based on a comparison between the detected profile attributes and the stored profile attributes. The detected profile attributes are readily standardized in accordance with standards followed by the content service provider in order to gain access to the mobile service subscribers.
