    • In a liquid filter comprising a filter housing having at least one liquid intake channel and at least one liquid return channel passing through a face wall of the filter housing that faces toward a filter connecting flange to which said filter housing is to be mounted, a releasable cover that closes the filter housing liquid-tight, an individually replaceable filter insert that can removed from the filter housing, and the improvement of a hollow fastening screw forming an axial liquid channel in communication with the liquid return channel and that can be rotated relative to the filter housing, the screw being centrally arranged in the face wall of the filter housing and serving to securely mount the filter housing to the filter connecting flange. Check valves can optionally be provided in the intake channel and in the hollow screw to prevent unwanted flow of liquid through the filter housing, particularly when changing the filter insert. Also, a bypass valve and a bypass filter may be provided to provide for liquid flow through the filter housing when the filter insert prevents sufficient passage of liquid therethrough resulting in an increased pressure across the filter insert.

    • An apparatus is disclosed for determining the shoe size corresponding to a foot, the apparatus is of the type including a foot rest adapted to recieve the foot to be measured and a measuring tape extending transverse to the foot rest, which is fixed at a first end relative to the foot rest, forms a loop over the latter, and is movable relative to the foot rest at its second end to tighten the loop about the circumference of the foot to be measured, and a reading point which is fixed relative to said first end of the measuring tape and is arranged opposite markings which are movable together with the second end of the measuring tape. The device is improved by providing additional reading points fixedly associated with the one reading point and a movable chart carrier which is coupled with the second end of said measuring tape and arranged adjacent to all reading points to receive the markings.

    • A separator for separating oil mist from the crankcase ventilation gas of an internal combustion engine, especially of a motor vehicle. The separator includes a gas purification chamber inside which a rotatably mounted centrifugal rotor is arranged. The gas purification chamber has a crude gas inlet, a pure gas outlet, and an oil outlet. The crankcase ventilation gas can be conducted into a radially internal zone of the centrifugal rotor via the crude gas inlet, while pure gas that is liberated from oil mist can be discharged from the gas purification chamber via the pure gas outlet, and oil separated from the gas can be discharged from the gas purification chamber via the oil outlet. The separator further includes a rotary drive for the centrifugal rotor. The rotary drive is disposed in a drive chamber of the separator, can be operated using pressurized lubrication oil of the internal combustion engine, and is connected to the centrifugal rotor by means of a shaft extending from the drive chamber into the gas purification chamber, from which the drive chamber is separated. The rotary drive is formed by at least one thrust nozzle which is connected to the shaft and to which the pressurized lubrication oil of the internal combustion engine can be fed. The separator includes at least one part of a base that forms the separation between the gas purification chamber and the drive chamber and extends into the drive chamber, the part of the base being fitted with a seat for a bearing of the shaft. The bearing is located at a distance from the centrifugal rotor.
