    • The present invention relates to the use of a silicon containing compound as drying agent of a polyolefln composition comprising a crosslinkable polyolefin with hydrolysable silane groups, wherein the silicon containing compound has a structure according to the formula (R1)x[Si(R2)y(R3)z]m wherein R1, which may be the same or different if more than one such group is present, is a monofunctional, or, if m=2, is a bifunctional, hydrocarbyl residue comprising from 1 to 100 carbon atoms; R2, which may be the same or different if more than one such group is present, is a hydrocarbyloxy residue comprising from 1 to 100 carbon atoms; R3, is —R4SiR1pR2q, wherein p is 0 to 3, q is 0 to 3, with the proviso that p+q is 3, and R4 is —(CH2)rYs(CH2)t− where r and t independently are 1 to 3, s is 0 or 1 and Y is a difunctional heteroatomic group selected from —O—, —S—, —SO—, —SO2—, —NH—, —NR1— or —PR1—, where R1 and R2 are as previously defined; and x is 0 to 3, y is 1 to 4, z is 0 or 1, with the proviso that x+y+z=4; and m=1 or 2.

    • The present invention relates to a composition for cross-linking and stabilization of a polymer containing hydrolysable silane groups comprising a sulphonic acid as a silanol condensation catalyst characterized in that it comprises a stabilizer which is neutral or acidic, does not contain ester groups and is a compound according to formula (I): wherein R is an unsubstituted or substituted aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbyl radical which may comprise heteroatoms, R′ is a hydrocarbyl radical, R″ is a hydrocarbyl radical and R′ and/or R″ being a bulky radical, X1, X2 or X3 is the same or different H or OH, whereby at least X1, X2 or X3 is OH, and n is 1 to 4; or a compound according to formula (II): R′″—(S)p—R′″  (II) wherein R′″ is an aliphatic hydrocarbyl radical and p is 1 to 6; or a mixture of any of such compounds, to a stabilized polymer comprising the above stabilizers and to a process for cross-linking and stabilization of silane group containing polymers in the presence of the above mentioned stabilizers.

    • The present invention relates to a semiconductive polymer composition having easily controllable stripping characteristics, especially for an electric power cable. The semiconductive polymer composition comprises an ethylene copolymer comprising polar co-monomer units, wherein the amount of the polar co-monomer units in the ethylene copolymer is 10 wt. % or more, based on the total weight of the ethylene copolymer; an olefin copolymer comprising propylene monomer units and monomer units of an alpha-olefin having at least 4 carbon atoms, wherein the olefin copolymer has a melting point of 110° C. or less, and carbon black in an amount of from 10 to 50 wt. %, based on the total weight of the semiconductive polymer composition, wherein the olefin copolymer (B) is prepared by using a metallocene polymerisation catalyst. The composition provides improved strippability and enhanced mechanical as well as electrical property profile.

    • The present invention relates to a polyethylene composition comprising: a) a polyethylene having cross-linkable silicon-containing groups (A); and b) a masterbatch comprising—one or more additives; and—a carrier comprising a C3-C5 alpha-olefin homo or copolymer (B). The present invention further relates to a cross-linked polyethylene composition obtainable by treating the composition according to any one of the preceding claims under cross-linking conditions. The present invention also relates to the following uses: Use of a masterbatch comprising—an additive; and—a carrier comprising a C3-C5 alpha-olefin homo- or copolymer (B) for adding an additive to a polyethylene with cross-linkable silicon-containing groups. Use of C3-C5 alpha-olefin homo- or copolymer (B) as carrier for additive(s) to improve the performance of a silanol condensation catalyst when cross-linking a polyethylene composition further comprising a polyethylene with cross-linkable silicon-containing groups.
