摘要： A device, and related method, for introducing fiber material into a body includes a tubular member with a lumen extending to an opening in a distal end portion of the tubular member and a mechanism in the tubular member for passing the fiber material through the lumen and the opening and into the body. The mechanism can be a helical member rotatable within the tubular member to convey the fiber material through at least a portion of the lumen, out of the opening, and into the body, and the fiber material can be particles in a carrier that are injected into the lumen by a syringe coupled to the tubular member. The mechanism alternatively can be a sleeve slidable within the tubular member to force the fiber material through at least a portion of the lumen, out of the opening, and into the body, and the fiber material can be a suture or thread that is fed into a distal portion of the tubular member where it collects until it is forced out of the opening by the sleeve. The mechanism also can be a push rod slidable within the tubular member to push the fiber material through at least a portion of the lumen, out of the opening, and into the body, and the fiber material can be one or more pellets.

摘要： A thermal ablation system, comprises a device housing and an elongated probe extending distally from the device housing, the probe including an outflow fluid passage extending between proximal and distal outflow openings and a return fluid passage extending between proximal and distal return openings, the probe being shaped and sized for insertion into a body lumen so that, when the distal outflow and return openings are located at a desired position within the body, the proximal outflow and return openings remain outside the body in combination with a pump disposed in the device housing in fluid communication with the outflow and return fluid passages of the probe for circulating a fluid through the outflow lumen into a target area of the body and back through the return lumen to the device housing and a heating element in the device housing for heating the fluid. Fluid connectors place the pump and the heating element in fluid communication with a supply of fluid and a fluid drain.

摘要： Manual bone anchor placement devices include a lever, a force translator and a rotary force mechanism. The devices are substantially gun- or pistol-shaped and are actuated when a user squeezes the lever to the gripping portion of a handle. Manual, linear force on the lever is mechanically translated through the force translator to the rotary force mechanism which transmits a rotary force to a securing element, or coupler, which mates with a bone anchor screw. The rotation of the securing element or coupler applies a torque on the bone anchor screw thereby placing the screw into bone. Kits comprising any of: a molded flexible sleeve for enclosing a suture, a retaining clip for preventing the suture from slipping out of the sleeve, a buttress-shaped bone anchor screw comprising a micropolished eyelet for receiving a suture, and a suture which may, or may not be pre-attached to the bone anchor screw, are disclosed. A collapsible, protective cover for a bone anchor screw is also disclosed.
