    • In an information providing system, a virtual three-dimensional space is established by an information management server. A user of a mobile communication terminal moves in the virtual space, and browses, posts, and searches message information items by manipulating an avatar. The information management server manages the message information items and responds to searches requested from mobile communication terminals. The information management server specifies an area where the number of message information items relevant to a search word specified by a user of a mobile communication terminal is equal to or greater than a predetermined number. The information management server outputs a guide information item for indicating a direction or route toward the specified area from the position of an avatar. Based on the guide information item, the mobile communication terminal displays an image of an arrow pointing a direction or route toward the specified area as a target area.

    • In an acceleration sensor, a guide portion is formed on a swing push-us member contiguous to a pushing portion and further to a pull-out direction side than the pushing portion. A top-edge portion of the guide portion is sloped to gradually get lower on progression away from the pushing portion in the pull-out direction. When a coupling claw moves in the take-up direction together with the sensor gear, the guide portion contacts the coupling claw from below the leading end of the coupling claw. The guide portion swings the coupling claw upwards as the sensor gear is rotating in the take-up direction, and guides the coupling claw to be on the pushing portion. The swing push-us member can be prevented from unintentionally obstructing the coupling claw when the sensor gear is returning to the initial position, even without provision of structure to restrict the swing push-us member from rising.

    • A diffractive optical element includes first and second optical members which are stacked. The first optical member includes a diffraction grating in which a plurality of raised portions each having a vertical surface and a surface inclined to the vertical surface are arranged. The second optical member includes a diffraction grating in which a plurality of recessed portions are arranged, to which the raised portions are fitted. The diffraction grating of the first optical member and the diffraction grating of the second optical member are in close contact with each other. A ridge portion of the raised portion defines a curved surface. A curvature radius R (μm) of the curved surface, a pitch P (mm) of the raised portions, and a refractive index difference Δnd between the first and second optical members satisfy a predetermined relationship.

    • An information-processing device stores information as assignment information to assign associated hardware or software to each window that displays processing details of an application. An association between a window and hardware or software is different for each application (in other words, for each window). If plural overlapping windows are displayed, the information-processing device determines a window to be displayed in the foreground, on a basis of the association. For example, in a case where window w1 of a game and window w2 of another game overlap each other, if the information-processing device has hardware or software associated with game A, window w1 is displayed at the front; and meanwhile if the device has hardware or software associated with game B, window w2 is displayed at the front.
