    • PURPOSE: A phospholipid derivative of conjugated linoleic acid and its preparation method are provided, to improve the compatibility of conjugated linoleic acid with food by modifying the terminal carboxyl group with phospholipid, thereby improving the solubility and reducing the toxicity due to the carboxyl group. CONSTITUTION: The conjugated linoleic acid derivative is such that some part of the fatty acid bonded to phospholipid is substituted with conjugated linoleic acid. The method comprises the steps of mixing 5 parts by weight of conjugated linoleic acid-methyl ester and 5 parts by weight of lecithin and stirring the mixture at a room temperature for 1-3 hours; adding sodium methoxide or lipozyme to the mixture at 60 deg.C and stirring the mixture; and washing the mixture with hot water to remove the sodium salt of conjugated linoleic acid and separating the product by distillation.

    • PURPOSE: Provided are derivatives of conjugated linoleic acid(CLA), such as triglyceride derivatives, ascorbic acid derivatives, D-glucose derivatives, cyclodextrin microcapsules, phospholipid derivatives, which have higher functionality and can be used for food additives. CONSTITUTION: The cyclodextrin microcapsules of CLA are synthesized by a process comprising the steps of: dissolving 1.4pts.wt. of the CLA in 40pts.wt. of ethanol and adding 10-40pts.wt. of distilled water and 1-4pts.wt. of cyclodextrin and stirring and reacting at 60-80deg.C for 1-10 minutes; cooling the resultant till the temperature of 4-20deg.C for 0.5-5 hours and then removing the solvent by a vacuum refrigeration drying or a spray drying.

CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (i) synthesizing cis-9, trans-11 CLA and trans-10,cis-12 CLA from linolenic acid, and isolating pure cis-9, trans-11 CLA and trans-10,cis-12 CLA; (ii) methylating the pure cis-9, trans-11 CLA and trans-10,cis-12 CLA to form trans-9,trans-11 CLA and trans-10,trans-12 CLA, respectively; and (iii) isolating pure trans-9, trans-11 CLA and trans-10,trans-12 CLA. The methylation is effected by heating the pure cis-9,trans-11 CLA and trans-10,cis-12 CLA in the presence of acid catalyst.
