A panel fixing structure for an external wall of a building using a section steel member contains: many vertical members(70) installed vertically after leaving the appointed space from an external wall(84) of a building; a fixing member(75) connecting the vertical member with the external wall of the building or an insulation layer(80) formed on the outside of the external wall; plural primary section steel members(10) installed across the vertical member, coupled with the vertical member through primary through-holes and composed of a vertical member fixing part put across the vertical member, a panel fixing part extended from one end of the vertical member fixing part to form a free end in the vertical direction and a box extended from the other end of the vertical member fixing part; a fastening member fastening the primary section steel member to the vertical member; a secondary section steel member(30) composed of a vertical member fixing part fixed in contact with the vertical member and provided with plural secondary through-holes to penetrate screws or rivets, a horizontal part extended perpendicularly from the vertical member fixing part to fix a panel and provided with plural third through-holes to penetrate screws or rivets and a box formed on the contact part of the vertical member fixing part and the horizontal part to increase the bending stiffness of the secondary section steel member; and panels(50a,50b,50c) used as exterior finishing materials for a building and provided with joint projections(54) projected on the top and bottom and grooves(52) fitted with the panel fixing part.
