    • For connecting a card type device to a counterpart connector, a connector is provided with an elastic film contact held to an inner insulator having a cam portion. The film contact has a first connection end portion and a second connection end portion opposite to the first connection end portion. The first connection end portion is electrically connected to the card type device. The second connection end portion is kept in a free state. A plate-like member has a first member end portion superposed to and fixed to the second connection end portion. A second member end portion of the plate-like member spaces from the elastic film contact and faces the cam portion. The plate-like member operates as a lever to make the second connection end portion be brought into press contact with the counterpart connector in accordance with an operation for connection.

    • In a two-piece electrical connector comprising a connector member and a mating connector member for electrically connecting a first and a second PCBs, the connector member comprising a first insulator block and a second insulator block coupled to each other. A flexible contact member is mounted in the first and the second insulator blocks and has a connecting portion to be connected to the first PCB and a contact portion to be brought into contact with mating contact portions of the mating connector member. The contact portion is provided with a backup spring having a free end. When subjected to pressing force by a press wall portion, the free end produces contacting force to press the contact portion to the mating contact portions by lever action. When the second insulator block is pushed down, the free end is deformed under the pressing force by the press wall portion and moved, as well as an intermediate portion of the flexible contact member is compressed and deformed. The first and the second insulator blocks are provided with first and second rotary shaft members to which the intermediate portion of the flexible contact member is wrapped to be deformed.

    • A coaxial multicore receptacle is provided which has a plurality of ground pins set upright on an insulating substrate and arranged in a matrix pattern, a plurality of signal pins set upright on the substrate each being located at the center of each box of the matrix pattern, first metallic lattice boards provided perpendicularly to the substrate each being positioned correspondingly to and above each column of the ground pins, and second metallic lattice boards provided perpendicularly to the substrate each being positioned correspondingly to and above each row of the ground pins. The first and second lattice boards cross one another orthogonally to define angular coaxial contact insertion holes surrounded by the boards and arranged in the matrix pattern. Each of the first lattice boards is formed with notches in the end portion on the side of the substrate to provide ground pin contact springs which are in elastic contact with the corresponding ground pins. As a coaxial contact is inserted into one of the coaxial contact insertion holes, a center conductor of the coaxial contact comes into contact with the corresponding signal pin.

    • An electrical connector for electrically connecting terminal pins of a circuit package to a circuitry of another circuit board having quasi-terminal pins for elastically pre-bending pairs of spring arms of contact elements in the connector. The connector is provided with an insulator base member for embracing the contact elements, and an insulator cover member slidably overlying the base member. The base member has recesses for permitting the spring arm pair to elastically bend. The cover member has penetrating holes for introducing the conductive pins into the recesses. The quasi-terminal pins are attached to the cover member adjacent to the penetrating holes, respectively, each of which is inserted between the spring arms and are in press-contact with them. Thus, the spring arms are pre-bent to facilitate an insertion of the terminal pin into a space between spring arms. The circuit package is adapted to the connector so that the terminal pins are introduced into the recesses through the penetrating holes. When the circuit package is slided along the base member, each of the terminal pins is laterally shifted to be inserted into a space between the spring arms and then each of quasi-terminal pins is shifted to go away from the spring arms. Therefore, the terminal pins are pinched between the spring arms to thereby be electrically connected to the contact elements. Preferably, each of the spring arms is provided with a guide leaf for guiding insertion of the quasi-terminal which is inserted thereinto.

    • For electrically connecting a conductor pattern (25) printed on a surface of a flexible insulator sheet (23) to a circuit board (13), an insulating resilient piece (33) is attached to the opposite surface of the flexible sheet and obliquely projects from said opposite surface. A connecting member (15) having a contact (17) to be electrically connected to the circuit board has an insulator block (16) having a receiving hole (18) for receiving the flexible sheet and the resilient piece together. The contact is exposed in the receiving hole so that the contact is brought into contact with the conductor pattern of the flexible sheet when a projecting portion of the resilient piece is pressed towards the flexible sheet received in the receiving hole by an actuating member (31, 39, 41). By the use of the connecting arrangement, a multi-row connector (11) is assembled which is for establishing electric connection to the connecting member as a paired connector. The multi-row connector comprises a first insulator block (19) for receiving the flexible sheets as flexible contact sheets in sheet receiving holes (21) and a second insulator block (27) having a sheet receiving groove (29). The insulating resilient pieces are fixed to bottom sheet ends of the flexible contact sheets. After inserted between free ends of the resilient pieces, the actuating member is turned around its axis to establish the electric connection.
