摘要： ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tourniquet (20, 220, 320, 420, 520) for application to a patient's limb in an emergency situation, and a method for its application. The tourniquet includes a tension-sensing mechanism (26, 100, 190, 240) used to establish a baseline tension in a loop around an injured limb, and a tension-increasing mechanism (58, 108, 140, 160, 260) to tighten the tourniquet as required beyond the baseline tension. The tension-sensing mechanism may be incorporated in a buckle (26, 100, 190, 240) in which a pin (40, 40', 193, 250) can protrude to engage and maintain tension in a strap member (22, 228) which is part of the loop. A latch (204, 210, 206, 312) may be incorporated in the buckle to keep it in a condition in which the pin protrudes to engage the strap and maintain the baseline tension. 摘要： A belt-like hip-girdling pelvic sling device for maintaining a desired amount of tension surrounding a person's hips and pelvis to securely support and stabilize a fractured pelvis, including a force-controlled buckle that automatically latches to control the tension and that includes a releasable latching mechanism. The latching mechanism maintains engagement of the buckle with a strap at the required position of the strap with respect to the buckle. The latching mechanism includes a movable member of the buckle that is moved to and latched in a position in which the buckle engages the strap, once a desired amount of tension is reached, limiting and maintaining the required tension.

摘要： A junctional and truncal tourniquet and a hip-girdling pelvic sling device (12, 112, 140, 150, 170, 190) for maintaining a desired amount of tension surrounding a person's hips and pelvis to securely support and stabilize a pelvis that has been fractured, for stabilizing an injured neck, and for securing a pressure applying device (220, 244, 260) to a person so that blood vessel-occluding pressure can be applied. Areas of mating types of fastener material (54, 58, 132, 210, 232, 246, 268) such as mating hook-bearing fastener material (36, 52, 123, 213, 242) and loop pile fastener material are arranged on the device to enable a strap (30) to be secured at various effective lengths to provide a wide range of adjustability. The device may include inflatable bladders (114, 142, 144, 146, 152, 154, 156, 220, 266, 274), and may be wrapped around a person's torso to occlude blood vessels proximal to an injury on a limb. An inflatable point pressure device (340) may be expandable in distinct tiers (402, 404) and may carry separate and removable pressure-concentrating member (408). An auxiliary strap (374) may be included and may be used to keep the junctional and truncal tourniquet in place on a person's torso.
