    • There is provided a method of manufacturing a glass plate with a light-transmissive colored film using a coating solution including a metal salt and a metal alkoxide, the light-transmissive colored film having a coloring effect due to a metal oxide which will not be impaired even if the amount of the added metal alkoxide is increased, and being highly resistant to wear and chemicals. A method of manufacturing a glass plate with a light-transmissive colored film comprises the steps of hydrolyzing and polymerizing a metal alkoxide to form a hydrolyzed polymeric product, aging the hydrolyzed polymeric product to achieve a weight-average molecular weight no less than 3000 based on polystyrene, preparing a coating solution including the hydrolyzed polymeric product, a metal salt as a coloring component, and a solvent, coating the coating solution on a surface of a glass plate, preliminarily firing the glass plate to convert the hydrolyzed polymeric product into a porous gel, and firing the glass plate to vitrify the porous gel and thermally decompose the metal salt into an oxide.

    • There is provided a vehicle window pane that can be manufactured at low cost and can reduce burning sensation of the skin of a passenger in the vehicle, and a manufacturing method therefor. With a glass plate 1 held by a glass plate holding member 4 in the vertical direction, a nozzle 2 is used to eject infrared cutoff liquid 3 onto the upper portion 1b of the glass plate 1. The infrared cutoff liquid 3 ejected onto the upper portion 1b of the glass plate 1 flows vertically downward, and is applied onto the glass plate 1. The glass plate 1 to which the infrared cutoff liquid 2 has been applied is dried for approximately five minutes at room temperature. Then, the glass plate 1 to which the infrared cutoff liquid 3 has been applied is placed in an oven preheated to 200° C., heated for ten minutes, and then cooled. The glass plate 1 having the infrared cutoff film thereon is thus formed. The resultant glass plate 1 having the infrared cutoff film thereon is installed in a vehicle 5 in such a way that the lower portion 1c of the glass plate 1 is located on the upper side of the vehicle 5 and the upper portion 1b of the glass plate 1 is located on the lower side of the vehicle 5.

    • The present invention is directed to a light-transmitting color film comprising oxides which have high chemical resistance and excellent light-absorption effect, making them available in a wide color range; a method for producing the same; and a coating solution used for forming the color film. In the light-transmitting color film comprising an oxide of an element which serves as a network former and oxides of transition metal elements serving as coloring components, the element serving as a network former is at least one selected from Si, Al, and B, and the transition metal elements comprise Cu, Mn, and Ni; and the two types of oxides form a complex oxide. Moreover, a method for producing the light-transmitting color film comprises: coating on the substrate a coating solution for forming the color film which contains at least one alkoxide of elements selected from Si, Al, and B which serve as network formers, and as coloring components, transition metal salts comprising at least Cu, Mn, and Ni, and at least one organic compound having a functional group which can coordinate the transition metals; and thereafter firing the substrate.
