    • An apparatus for feeding recording paper forwardly and backwardly in a printing apparatus comprising a pair of paper feed devices, one on each side of a printing unit. The upstream paper feed device is lower in forward feed speed than the downstream paper feed device. The apparatus includes a larger- and a smaller-diameter gear portions provided integrally on a drive gear wheel which transmits a drive force to the upstream paper feed device. A reverse-feed gear wheel, mounted on the drive shaft, meshes with the larger-diameter gear portion via a one-way clutch. A forward-feed gear wheel, loosely fitted over the drive shaft, meshes with the smaller-diameter gear portion. A clutch spring, wound around the outer periphery of the shaft of the forward feed gear wheel and a seat coupled to the drive shaft, is engaged with a rotary body with a one-way clutch.

    • A radio-controlled timepiece in which its reception sensitivity is further enhanced. The radio-controlled timepiece includes: an antenna core 11 made of a magnetic material and formed as a single integrated body including a coiled portion (11a) wound with a coil 19 and extension portions 11b and 11c which are located respectively on the end-portion sides; additional cores 15 and 16 made of a magnetic material; magnetism-collection members 17 and 18 made of a magnetic material; a main plate 31 (timepiece substrate) made of a non-magnetic material; a guide member 33 made of a non-magnetic material; and a liquid-crystal-panel supporting frame 32 (magnetism-collection-member supporting members, pressing member) made of a non-magnetic material and having protrusions 32a and 32b (pressing members) formed thereon. When the main plate 31, the guide member 33, and the liquid-crystal-panel supporting frame 32 are assembled together, the protrusions 32a and 32b press the magnetism-collection members, respectively. Thus, the magnetism-collection members 17 and 18 come into contact respectively with the additional cores 15 and 16, and, at the same time, the additional cores 15 and 16 come into contact respectively with the extension portions 11b and 11c of the antenna core 11. Accordingly an antenna-core body with a large single body is formed, which enhances the reception performance.

In addition, favorable feeling of wearing the communication device can be obtained, and the size of the communication device as a whole can be made small.

    • A paper tractor unit is disclosed. The tractor unit which is movably provided for a support member can be selectively moved between a position at which a continuous paper is fed and a position from which the paper is drawn, a paper drawing drive roller and a pinch roller being provided at the position from which the paper is drawn. A release lever is provided which moves in synchronization with a switching position to the position from which the paper is drawn. A pinch roller and a guide shaft are provided for a support plate which is capable of being moved by the release lever. The pinch roller can come into contact with the paper-drawing drive roller and move away from the same. The guide shaft can freely move along a guide portion in a direction in which the pinch roller comes into contact with and moves away from the drive lever. A guide pin is a pinion and a rack is formed on the guide portion for the purpose of engaging with the pinion.

    • This invention provides a printer in which the printer head can be removed easily and reduction of printer size can be realized. This is achieved because a displaceable trailing roller can be moved to a location where it does not interfere with the removal of the printing head. Therefore, a paper feed roller can be disposed in close proximity to the printing head, which is effective in reducing the size of a printer. A displaceable trailing roller 61 a is rotatably engaged with a rockable switching lever 66 by a pin 66 a and this displaceable trailing roller flexibly contacts a paper feed roller 61 by means of a spring 68 during paper feed. The switching lever 66 is rockable so as to be displaced from a paper feed position where the displaceable trailing roller flexibly contacts the paper feed roller to a non-paper feed position (see FIG. 8), i.e., a position where the displaceable roller transversely crosses the conveyance path of the paper and is positioned opposite the side where the printing head 31 is disposed, with the conveyance path as a boundary. When replacing the printing head 31, the switching lever 66 is rocked, and the displaceable roller 61 a is moved to a non-paper feed position.
