    • An apparatus and a method to perform a fast handover that is capable of determining whether to switch an internet protocol (IP) using a received, unique code of an access router when a mobile node performs a fast handover in a wireless network. The apparatus to perform a fast handover includes a signal receiving unit to receive a signal, a subnet change determining unit to determine if a subnet change has occurred by referring to an access router identification (ID) included in the received signal, a trigger unit to perform a layer trigger depending upon the determination result as to whether a subnet change has occurred, and a handover performing unit to perform a handover according to the layer trigger.

    • A method of adjusting quality of service (QoS) with respect to changes in a transmission environment of a mobile terminal receiving data based on a stream control transmission protocol (SCTP) session. When the transmission environment of the mobile terminal receiving data based on the SCTP session changes, the mobile terminal transmits link information indicating a new transmission environment to a destination node, and the destination node adjusts the quality of data or the size of a transmission window based on the link information. Thus, without adding separate network devices, the QoS of the data being transmitted can be adjusted with respect to the changed transmission environment, only by adding functions with software to the transmission terminal and the reception terminal. Also, since the destination node manually adjusts the transmission window according to the link information, packet loss can be minimized compared to the conventional congestion control method.

    • Provided are a system and method for deleting tunneling when a correspondent node is connected to a mobile node that has moved to a different network. The system includes a domain name service server, a mobile node that moves to a different network, a domain name dynamic updating server, and a correspondent node. The domain name service server manages domain names and address of a plurality of mobile nodes. Once the domain name dynamic update server receives a message including the created address by the mobile node, the domain name dynamic update server updates domain name and address of the mobile node that are registered in the domain name service server using the domain name and address contained in the received message. The correspondent node connects to the domain name service server, obtains the updated address of the mobile node, and transmits a packet to the mobile node using the obtained address.
