A rotating shaft is rotatable and axially supports the rotor case. A hollow cylindrical bearing rotatably supports the rotating shaft. A bearing holder is mounted to the outer circumference of the bearing to support it. A stator is mounted to the outer circumference of the bearing holder to form an electric field which rotates the rotor case. A housing shaft is fitted over the outer circumference of the rotating shaft, seated on the rotor case, and coupled at its outer circumference to the polygon mirror. A hole is formed in the housing shaft, absorbs stress occurring during welding, and reduces variation in levelness of the polygon mirror. A coupling part couples the edge of the hole with the polygon mirror.
