CO by a simple and economical means by reacting a carbonate with a carbonaceous substance while keeping the carbonate at a molten state or a semimolten state to remarkably raise the reaction rate. CONSTITUTION:A carbonate, e.g., an Na2CO3-CaCO3 mixture kept at a molten state or a semimolten state, preferably at about 900 deg.C or below is reacted with a carbonaceous substance such as finely powdered coal to produce CO. When the Na2CO3-CaCO3 mixture is used, it is kept at about 600-900 deg.C. By this method a remarkably high reaction rate is obtd. at such a low reaction temp. as compared to a conventional method of reacting C and CO2.

摘要： PURPOSE:To produce the title substance with hardly forming any by-products by bringing an aromatic compound providing the title compound by oxidation into contact with an H2-containing gas and an O2-containing gas in the presence of a platinum group-based catalyst cosupporting metallic salts in the vapor phase under relatively mild conditions. CONSTITUTION:An H2-containing gas, an O2-containing gas and a precursor (e.g. benzene) of the title compound are reacted in the presence of a platinum group-based catalyst cosupporting a metallic salt in the vapor phase under mild conditions (e.g. 100-250 deg.C in producing phenol from benzene) to produce the title substance. The most preferred catalyst is a Pd-Cu-based catalyst supported on silica in which Pd or a salt thereof and Cu or a salt thereof are cosupported on a carrier such as silica. The residence time of reactants in the catalyst layer is readily controlled and the formation of by-products can be limited by regulating the progress of the reaction.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enable cleaning a device in a simple manner by introducing one in which the tip of a mixing tube can be inserted into and removed from the inside of a pipe burner by moving its supporting means. CONSTITUTION:A supporting part 18 holding a mixing tube 17 is designed to be moved lengthways like a slider in a guide bore 33 formed in a part 31 attached to the underside of a tabletop 30; another supporting part 19 consisting of a case serving as a receptacle for oil or a water tray 11 supports a pipe burner 13 by means of holding means 25, 26 attached respectively to the left and right inner side walls 23, 24 positioned opposite to each other in the case. In the side plate 23 facing the mixing tube 17 for the pipe burner 13 in the case 19 a through hole 29 is formed at the position where the end 28 of the pipe burner 13 touches the side plate 23 so that, by horizontally moving the supporting part 18, the tip 20 of the mixing tube supported thereby is fitted into and removed from the inside 21 of the pipe burner. By moving the supporting parts 18, 19, the mixing tube 17 can be withdrawn from the pipe burner 13 and the water tray 11 can be removed together with the pipe burner 13. The pipe burner 13 forms no obstacle to the removal.
