    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide more effective assignment and/or selection criteria for allocating one of a plurality of temporary resource request identifiers for use by a wireless communication device in accessing a target base station.SOLUTION: The method of the present invention includes identifying a list of temporary resource request identifiers associated with a target base station usable by one or more wireless communication devices. The list includes a subset of one or more part time temporary resource request identifiers, and assignment of the part time temporary resource request identifiers to a corresponding grouping of one or more source base stations at a particular time is rotated among more than one of a plurality of corresponding groupings of the one or more source base stations. The temporary resource request identifiers include a limitation of usage corresponding to particular communication time intervals during which the temporary resource request identifier can be used with the target base station.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bandwidth extension method and apparatus applicable to MDCT-based speech/audio coders.SOLUTION: A method includes defining a transition band 103 for a signal 101 having a spectrum within a first frequency band, where the transition band is defined as a portion of the first frequency band 104, and is located near an adjacent frequency band 105 that is adjacent to the first frequency band 104. The present invention includes a signal processing logic for: analyzing the transition band 103 to obtain a transition band spectral envelope and a transition band excitation spectrum; estimating an adjacent frequency band spectral envelope; generating an adjacent frequency band excitation spectrum by periodic repetition of at least a part of the transition band excitation spectrum with a repetition period determined by a pitch frequency of the signal; and combining the adjacent frequency band spectral envelope and the adjacent frequency band excitation spectrum to obtain an adjacent frequency band signal spectrum.

The spacer (230) can be formed in a variety of shapes from rigid or flexible, compressible dielectric materials. Using the dielectric joint to link together multiple conductive sleeves (240) results in a flexible test cable (200) with electrical transparency at the frequency of interest.
