    • In a noise reducing device for reducing noises contained in audio signals, a frequency band wherein noises contained in audio signals are highly sensible to an auditor, but the frequency of appearance therein of the audio signals is substantially low is blocked by a required number of band-elimination filters provided in series in a transmission line for transmitting the audio signals, each of the band-elimination filters being bypassed by a corresponding variable impedance circuit, while the same frequency band is passed through a corresponding number of bandpass filters, the outputs of said band-pass filters being supplied respectively to corresponding control signal producing circuits to produce control signals, whereby said variable impedance circuits bypassing the band-elimination filters are controlled respectively by said control signals, and the bandelimination filters are thereby brought into a state effectively blocking the frequency band when the input audio signal level in said frequency band is lower than a predetermined value and vice versa.

    • Conventional echo cancellation devices have a problem that an echo signal cannot be fully attenuated. An echo cancellation device outputs a first voice signal in which frequency components equal to or higher than a target frequency are suppressed, and acquires an acoustic signal (S2) including a frequency component higher than the target frequency. The echo cancellation device includes an echo signal reduction processing unit (18) that generates a transmitting signal in which an echo signal component is reduced from the acoustic signal (S2); and a filter coefficient update determination unit (17) that instructs the echo signal reduction processing unit to update the filter coefficient when the output voice signal (S1) corresponds to a voice section and the acoustic signal (S2) includes the echo signal component. The filter coefficient update determination unit (17) calculates a feature value of the acoustic signal (S2) and instructs to update the filter coefficient when a difference between a first feature value of a frequency band equal to or lower than the target frequency and a second feature value of a frequency band higher than the target frequency is equal to or greater than a preset update determination threshold.
