    • A shade positioning system which employs a wrap spring clutch system includes a shade operator, a shade roller, and an idle end bracket for supporting the shade roller when mounted. The shade operator includes a self-lubricating central hub around which a helical coil spring is wrapped, a manually operated pulley mounted on the wrap spring, and a support bushing to ensure positive engagement of the aforementioned elements. The central hub is composed of a plastic or metal, which allows the smooth rotation of the wrap spring around the hub. The tangs of the wrap spring project substantially radially outward from the spring central axis, and are shaped to accommodate for the coefficient of friction between the hub and the spring. A first preferred spring construction allows for decreased spring surface area to contact the hub. A second preferred spring construction allows for an increased spring surface area to contact the hub. Further, the bushing is provided is with a projection which engages the wrap spring due to the weight of the shade. This engagement causes the spring to further grip the hub preventing pulley rotation.

    • Un sistema de colocacion de persiana que emplea un sistema de embrague arrollado por resorte incluye un operador de persiana, un rodillo de persiana, y una abrazadera de extremo inmovil para soporta el rodillo de persiana cuando se monta. El operador de persiana incluye un esparrago central autolubricante alrededor del cual se arrolla un resorte espiral helicoidal, una polea manualmente operada montada en el resorte espiral, y un manguito de soporte para asegurar el acoplamiento positivo de los elementos antes mencionados. El esparrago central esta compuesto de un plastico o metal, que permite la rotacion uniforme del resorte de arrollamiento alrededor del esparrago. Las lengüetas del resorte espiral se proyectan sustancial y radialmente hacia afuera del eje central del resorte, y estan configuradas para acomodar el coeficiente de friccion entre el esparrago y el resorte. Una primera construccion de resorte preferida permite la disminucion de area de superficie de resorte que hace contacto con el esparrago. Una segunda construccion de resorte preferida permite una area de superficie de resorte incrementada para hacer contacto con el esparrago. Adicionalmente, el manguito esta proporcionado con una saliente que acopla al resorte de arrollamiento debido al peso de la persiana. Este acoplamiento provoca que el resorte sujete adicionalmente el esparrago evitando la rotacion de la polea.
