摘要： An anastomosis system and method uses an anvil to control and support a tissue site during an anastomosis procedure. The anvil is particularly useful for supporting a wall of a coronary artery during attachment of a graft vessel to the coronary artery because the wall of the coronary artery is very thin, difficult to grasp, and susceptible to tearing. In one method, the anvil is inserted into a pressurized or unpressurized target vessel (30) and is pulled against an inner wall of the target vessel (30) causing tenting of the thin tissue of the vessel wall. A graft vessel (32) is then advanced to the anastomosis site and an end of the graft vessel is positioned adjacent and exterior of the target vessel (30). Staples (22) are inserted through the tissue of the graft vessel (32) and the target vessel (30) by pivoting the arms (40) of a staple holder (38) towards the anvil (14). When the ends of the staples (22) engage staple bending features (16) on the anvil (14), the ends of the staples bend over securing the graft vessel (32) and target vessel (30) together. After stapling is complete, an incision is formed in the wall of the target vessel (30) to allow blood flow between the target vessel (30) and the graft vessel(32).

摘要： Various devices, systems and methods for knotless suturing of tissue are disclosed. These devices allow sutures to be anchored to bone, and more specifically provide a suture anchor which eliminates the need for knotting the suture. Thus, damaged tissue may be re-attached to a substrate tissue. The anchors have a minimum of moving parts may be suited to being a single molded polymer construction. The anchors will find particular utility in hip and shoulder arthroscopy, e.g. labral re-attachment and similar procedures.

摘要： Devices, systems and methods for passing a suture. In general, described herein are suturing devices, such as suture passers, as well as methods of suturing tissue. These suture passing devices may include dual deployment suture passers in which a first distal jaw member is moveable at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the elongate body of the device and the second distal jaw member is retractable proximally to the distal end region of the elongate body and/or the first jaw member. Also described herein are suture passers in which the tissue penetrator passing the suture travels in an approximately sigmoidal pathway, with the distal end of the tissue penetrator extending distally from one jaw of the device.

摘要： Devices and methods are provided for performing microfracture surgery on an articular surface in a joint space. A surgical tool comprising an elongated body and a distal probe is provided. The probe is coupled to the elongated body and is adapted to be inserted in the joint space. The probe is positioned over the articular surface. A first and second channel through the subchondral bone into the marrow cavity are created with perforating elements, fluid jets, laser beams, or other channeling methods. The second channel is discrete from the first channel and is separated therefrom by a predetermined distance. The first channel and the second channel may be simultaneously created. In this way, a microfracture procedure is performed faster and with greater precision than existing techniques and with less risk of thermal damage and other complications.
