摘要： A mobile loading dock including a planar ramp member having a lower end and an upper end including an upper edge having a lip, the lip resting on a trailer bed. A ramp underside including a wheel assembly thereupon, the wheel assembly having a hydraulic member, a leg hingedly attached to the ramp underside; a wheel attached to the leg at an axle and disposed to contact a ground surface beneath the mobile loading dock and a hydraulic velocity fuse. If the trailer bed moves while the lip is resting on the trailer bed the hydraulic velocity fuse engages and prevents free fall of the ramp member to the ground.

摘要： An apparatus and related method for a dock housing for a pre-existing loading dock. The dock housing includes a base with top and bottom surfaces and front, back and opposed sidewalls. The front wall has integral fork pockets for interaction with forks on a fork truck for movement of the base into a desired location and the top surface has an opening to receive a dock leveler into such opening. Also included is a modular frame mounted onto the base in sections, the sections including a frame-front wall, opposed frame-sidewalls and a frame-top wall, the frame-front wall having a trailer-receiving opening to receive a trailer, the frame-sidewalls including a slotted-base attachment for securement of the base and sidewalls together. The dock housing is formed by securing the frame-sidewalls to a wall of a pre-existing building as well as securing the base, the frame-front wall and the frame-top wall together.

The front hinge includes a deck-hinge member that extends approximately the full width of the deck and is preferably formed from a single sheet of material. A particularly narrow front header or flange disposed along the front edge of the deck reinforces the relatively thin deck plate so that the plate's rigidity more closely matches that of the thicker lip, yet the flange is sufficiently small to allow the deck to twist so that the deck can place the tip of the lip squarely upon a sideways inclined truck bed.
