    • A method and an apparatus for allocating resources in a band adaptive modulation and coding (band AMC) mode of a wideband wireless access system are provided. The method includes, when two or more mobile stations transmit channel quality information (CQI) through an overlapping band, examining whether the mobile stations transmit information indicating that the overlapping band is the highest band thereof, comparing tag values of the mobile stations transmitting the information indicating that the overlapping band is the highest band thereof and selecting one of the tag values having the highest priority, allocating a subchannel corresponding to the highest band to the mobile station having the selected tag value, and changing the tag values of the mobile stations transmitting the information indicating that the overlapping band is the highest band thereof on the basis of the result of the comparison to reset the tag values.

    • Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for fairly allocating resources in a band adaptive modulation and coding (band AMC) mode of a wideband wireless access system. There is provided a method of fairly allocating resources in a band AMC mode of a wideband wireless access system when two or more mobile stations simultaneously transmit channel quality information (CQI) through an overlapping band. The method includes: when two or more mobile stations transmit the channel quality information (CQI) through an overlapping band, examining whether the mobile stations transmit information indicating that the overlapping band is the highest bands thereof; comparing tag values of the mobile stations transmitting the information indicating that the overlapping band is the highest band thereof and selecting one of the tag values having the highest priority, the tag values being given when the mobile stations transmit the information on the band at the beginning and the tag values stored for every frame being reset; allocating a sub channel corresponding to the highest band to the mobile station having the selected tag value; and changing the tag values of the mobile stations transmitting the information indicating that the overlapping band is the highest band thereof on the basis of the result of the comparison to reset the tag values.

    • The present invention relates to a method for searching and releasing an abnormal subscriber station in a wireless portable Internet system, and an apparatus using the same. The apparatus searches for an abnormal group including abnormal subscriber stations based on a ranging code provided in a periodic ranging process, and searches for an abnormal subscriber station by transmitting a connection maintenance message to subscriber stations included in the abnormal group so as to check an operation status of the respective subscriber stations. In addition, the apparatus releases a connection of an abnormal subscriber station. Therefore, waste of radio resources allocated to the abnormal subscriber station can be prevented, thereby achieving efficient resource management. Further, a secondary search process is performed only for subscriber stations included in an abnormal group, thereby preventing a system load from occurring when searching for an abnormal subscriber station.

    • The present invention relates to a retardation film having a homeotropic alignment liquid crystal film, a polarizing film, an IPS (In-Plane Switching) mode liquid crystal display and a method for preparing the same. More particularly, the present invention relates to a homeotropic alignment liquid crystal film prepared from a liquid crystal mixed solution containing a polymerizable reactive liquid crystal monomer so as to improve a viewing angle characteristic of an ISP mode liquid crystal display and reduce a color shift; a retardation film prepared by integrating an oriented retardation film and a method for preparing the same; a polarizing film having the retardation film located between a polarizing element or plate and a liquid crystal cell and a method for preparing the same; and an IPS mode liquid crystal display having the polarizing film. There is an advantage in that since a homeotropic alignment liquid crystal film with a retardation of a thickness direction is prepared using a liquid crystal mixed solution containing a reactive liquid crystal monomer, a retardation film according to the present invention is not required for high-temperature heat treatment and cooling processes so that it can be applied to a high-speed continuous process. Further, there is an advantage in that a retardation film having an oriented retardation film integrated with the homeotropic alignment liquid crystal film is arranged between a polarizing element or polarizing plate of an IPS mod liquid crystal display and a liquid crystal cell so that a contrast ratio can be increased up to about 1520%, and a color shift characteristic can be also improved.
