摘要： A liquid medical waste receptacle includes an open top vessel having a bottom and an upstanding wall defining an upper rim. A lid is adapted to cover the open top vessel in sealing engagement with the upper rim. The lid includes a body portion defining a recess portion. The recess portion extends into the open top vessel. In some embodiments, the recess portion makes up a majority of the body portion. In some embodiments, the recess portion has a plurality of fingers. Select fingers have a proximal section, a distal section, and an intermediate section disposed between the proximal and distal sections, wherein the proximal section or the intermediate section includes a flexibility that is greater than the flexibility of at least a portion of the distal section.

摘要： The image scanning system (52) of the present invention scans slides and film strips containing photographic images and creates a corresponding plurality of digital representations of the photographic images. The system (52) includes a touch screen monitor (96), a computer (54), a scanner (62), a high speed interface (112) and a printer (98). The scanner (62) includes a light source (172) for projecting light through the film strip. A light sensor (124) senses the light projected through the film strip and generates pixel data. A film drive advances the film strip between the light source (172) and the light sensor (124). A lens located between the light source and the light sensor directs the light projected through the film strip onto the light sensor (124). The pixel data is transmitted through the high speed interface (112) to the computer (54) for processing operations. After the pixel data has been processed, digital images are displayed on the monitor (96) and may also be printed out.

The loose papers are held to the display easel by a self-adjusting clamp mechanism which automatically adjusts itself to the thickness of the paper pad and grips the papers to be held. The clamp mechanism comprises a cylindrical rod that slides up and down in a slot within a housing that receives the pad of loose papers. The pad is held fast to the display board by the cylindrical rod. The cylindrical rod slides up and down the housing, as needed, to accommodate the thickness of the pad.

摘要： A novel presentation board has a body of molded plastic which forms a strong, hollow, lightweight unit with a projecting tray and grip on a front surface and a corresponding recesses on a rear surface so the units can be conveniently stacked. The front surface of the body bears an extruded track for insertion and replacement of a whiteboard or other writing surface. The whiteboard is secured at a top edge of the body by two metal pegs, sized and spaced apart to accept a prepunched pad of flip chart paper, that pass through the whiteboard into threaded inserts in the plastic body. The grip protrudes from a top edge of the whiteboard and is slidably mounted on the pegs. When slid into a lower position, the grip hides the pegs and locks the pad in position. A pair of U-shaped tubular metal legs can be slid into channels in a rear surface of the body. The channels are covered, at all but part of their lower ends, by cover plates. Grasping the lower leg ends allows one to slide the legs from the unit. One leg slides straight down remaining in the plane of the board. A second leg slides part of the way down and then is automatically pivoted to the rear by torsion springs, thereby forming a convenient prop to elevate the board.
