    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for separating a therapeutic device such as an embolic coil from a delivery tube in a target site in a patient's body.SOLUTION: A system includes a bead which is arranged at a distal end of a therapeutic device and which retains the therapeutic device to a delivery tube in a first configuration in the state of being compressed by a series of connectors. The series of connectors comprise an expansion/contraction-resistant member, and the bead is attached to an anchor inside the therapeutic device via the expansion/contraction-resistant member. In addition, the anchor is arranged in a thermally-responsive component which is configured to release the anchor by melting or changing a shape and to similarly release the bead and the therapeutic device and which is made of a polymeric material. Energy can be supplied to the thermally-responsive component via an electric conductor, and a resistive heating component can be arranged inside the delivery tube.
