    • The present invention discloses a method for controlling switch of multi-mode mobile user equipment (UE). Through designing a dedicated Switch Control Module (SCM) in the existing terminal management module within the multi-mode UE supporting IMS services, utilizing the automatic detection function of the Access Service Network (ASN) at the terminal side, and modifying part of the control signaling of the Connectivity Service Network (CSN) at the terminal side to make the UE participate the switch control procedure actively, the invention implements the seamless switch between different networks, strengthening the real-time performance during the network switch, thus enabling the mobile multimedia service to continue to satisfy the requirements for the real-time performance even when switched in use and enabling the user to obtain quicker data transmission rate, better quality of service and service with a cheaper price.

    • A design structure for a circuit for measuring the absolute duty cycle of a signal, is provided. A non-inverted path from a signal source is selected and various DCC circuit setting indices are cycled through until a divider, coupled to the output of the DCC circuit, fails. A first minimum pulse width at which the divider fails is then determined based on the index value of the DCC circuit at the time of the failure. A second minimum pulse width at which the divider fails is then determined based on the index value of the DCC circuit at the time of this second failure. The duty cycle is then calculated based on a difference of the first and second minimum pulse width values.

    • Methods and systems for training a computer to recognize and verify an individual's signature are provided. One illustrative method extracts a plurality of both global and local features from a relatively small sample of handwriting samples. In one such embodiment, only 5 samples are needed from an individual without requiring forgeries. In yet another embodiment, only three global parameters are utilized, thus reducing the complexity, and processing power, of the system. Utilizing such few global parameters also facilitates fine tuning of the systems. Further aspects of the invention relate to a multi-stage statistical system for on-line signature verification. In one embodiment, the system may comprise a simplified GMM model built on global signature properties and a left-to-right HMM model based on segmental features. In one embodiment, specific strategies are utilized to create model simplification and initialization in contrast to general GMM and HMM models.

The circuit has a plurality of substantially identical pulse shaper elements, each of which expand the pulse of an input signal whose duty cycle is to be measured by a same amount. The outputs of the pulse shaper elements may be coupled to substantially identical divider circuits whose outputs are coupled to a multiplexer that selects two inputs for output to a set of master/slave configured flip-flops, one input serving as a clock and the other as data to the flip-flops. The flip-flops sample the divider outputs selected by the multiplexer to detect if the dividers have failed or not. The outputs of the flip-flops are provided to an XOR gate which outputs a duty cycle signal indicative of the duty cycle of the input signal.
