    • A method and apparatus are provided for transmitting data to access terminals by an access node in a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) system operating at least 128 Medium Access Control Identifiers (MAC IDs) in one sector. A preamble set for transmitting a multi-user packet (MUP) is configured to a specific access terminal, information on the preamble set is provided to the terminal, and data is transmitted to an access terminal having a MAC ID of 128 or higher using a preamble corresponding to the MAC ID. If a specific access terminal has a MAC ID of 128 or higher, the preamble set includes at least one preamble with which the access terminal determines whether the MUP is received. The access node provides information on the preamble set to the access terminal during session configuration.

    • The present invention relates to a method and apparatus, in which a controller (OGI-controller) receives the registration of a terminal from a content provider so as to transmit information via a wireless multicast or broadcast channel, and transmits information to the registered terminal. The method comprises: a service registration step in which the controller registers a service to transmit information provided by the content provider to the terminal, and allocates an identification to a terminal group which will receive the information; a terminal registration step in which the content provider registers the terminal group to the controller; a terminal state checking step in which the controller receives a report on the operating states of the terminals of the registered terminal group; a terminal classifying step in which the controller classifies the terminals on the basis of the operating states of the terminals; and a terminal state reporting step in which the content provider receives a report on the state of the terminal.

    • The present invention relates to a method and a system for managing an emergency call between a terminal and a network by using a non-access stratum protocol in a mobile communication network. A method for providing an emergency call service by a terminal in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: enabling the terminal to transmit an access request message including an emergency call identifier to a mobility management entity; enabling the terminal to attempt to authenticate the mobility management entity after the step of transmitting the access request message; enabling the terminal to receive an access grant message including the emergency call identifier from the mobility management entity; and enabling the terminal which receives the access grant message, to provide an emergency call service through the mobility management entity. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the emergency call is enabled.

    • A packet data generating method and apparatus for supporting multiple services in a wireless packet data communication system where an MS transmits two or more traffics to a BS on one of a reverse PDCH, a reverse FCH, and a reverse DCCH. To generate a PDU using non-signaling traffic and/or signaling traffic for one of the reverse physical channels, a multiplex option is determined during service negotiations between the MS and the BS. The multiplex option defines a traffic format having a header and a payload including traffic data, and the header includes a service reference identifier field, a length indicator field indicating the presence or absence of a length field, and the length field indicating the length of the traffic data. A PDU is generated by formatting a reverse traffic to have a header and a payload according to the determined multiplex option.
