    • In a method of measuring and portioning of fodder a fodder portioner (1) provided with a dispensing device (5, 7) is utilized for dispensing an optional quantity of fodder. According to the invention a) the dispensing device (5, 7) is activated, b) the weight of the dispensed fodder from the fodder portioner is sensed, c) the value of a volume related variable for dispensing the fodder is registered when a given weight of the dispensed fodder from the fodder portioner is sensed, and d) on the basis of said registered value, the dispensing device is kept activated until the desired weight of fodder has been dispensed from the fodder portioner. Hereby, the fodder portioner can be provided with for instance an inexpensive loading cell for sensing only a maximum and a minimum value.

    • A pulsator, preferably for milking machines, comprises a housing (1) with a vacuum channel (13) and two pulsation channels (15, 16) for connection to respective pairs of teat cups. A slide valve (17) is arranged displaceably in the housing across the openings of the channels between two end positions and has a recess (21) for connection of the vacuum channel with only one of the pulsation channels when the slide valve is in one of its end positions and with only the other of the pulsation channels when the slide valve is in its other end position. The invention is characterized by means (23, 24, 28, 29, 33) for adjustment of the end positions of the slide valve (17) relative to said openings of the vacuum and pulsation channels (13, 15, 16) in the direction of movement of the slide valve, in such a way that the stroke of the slide valve between said end positions remains unchanged. By means of said adjustment means the limping of the pulsator can be adjusted, so that it will be acceptably small or completely eliminated.

    • A hose (24) constitutes a part of a milking machine and has an end portion (30) which is radially expanded and applied on a tubular nipple (29), the outer diameter of which exceeds the inner diameter of the hose. The milking machine comprises means for providing a negative pressure in the hose. The hose is reinforced by means of at least one elongated reinforcement member (25, 26), which consists of a material substantially harder than the wall of the hose and which extends along the hose in a helical cavity in the wall of the hose. In addition, the reinforcement member completely fills up said cavity and is arranged therein, such that relative movement between the reinforcement member and the wall of the hose is allowed.
