    • A method and apparatus are provided for producing a reconstituted food product. The apparatus includes a co-extruder 11 in which a gelling agent 70 and a setting agent 80 are co-extruded into a process stream of comminuted food pieces in a flow passage, with the gelling agent and setting agent being separated by the process stream. The apparatus includes a static mixer 10 of part cylindrical wall elements 22 with inwardly protruding mixer elements 24 in which the process stream, including the gelling agent and setting agent are mixed and the grain and texture of the food pieces altered to produce a reconstituted food product that resembles whole food. The apparatus includes a tenderiser 200 for pre-treating the comminuted food pieces by compressing them between a stationary plate 202 and a vibrating plate 206 in a tapering cavity.

    • The present invention relates to a supply assembly for use in the manufacture of a machine for preparing a beverage obtained by dissolving a soluble preparation in water. The invention also relates to a beverage machine that comprises said supply assembly. The supply assembly (1) according to the invention comprises a mixing chamber (10) containing a mixer (11) comprising at least one impeller (HA) for mixing a single dose of soluble preparation in a quantity of water in order to obtain said beverage. At least one nozzle (20) is provided for the insertion of said water inside said mixing chamber (10) which comprises an upper opening (15) directly accessible to a user for the manual insertion of a single dose of soluble preparation. The mixing chamber (10) also comprises a lower opening (16) suitable for enabling the supply of the beverage in a direction substantially parallel to the axis of rotation (99) of the impeller (HA) that is positioned so as to be faced and adjacent to the lower opening (16) so that, during and as a result of its rotation, it prevents the beverage from escaping.

    • Methods and apparatus are described for a data link control layer of a communication modem in which data movement functionality is implemented in hardware. In one embodiment, a data link layer comprises software, memory and hardware. The software comprises a processor configured to receive control signaling from a host device and provide control information to the hardware. The hardware comprises an outbound memory manager configured to receive data from the host device, determine locations in the memory for the data, store the data in the memory, determine which of the data is to be forwarded to a physical layer during a given transmit period, and forward the data to the physical layer. In preferred embodiments, the modem is a high performance modem designed for the terminals of a wireless local area network having multiple data flows, segmentation and reassembly, encryption, automatic repeat request, and quality of service requirements.
