    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscopic instrument constituted in such a manner that heat generation in the instrument is reduced without adversely affecting the performance of the instrument.
      SOLUTION: The endoscopic instrument (1) has at least one component that is heated during the operation of the instrument (1) and includes a means (7) for automatically detecting the use or non-use state of the instrument (1).
