    • A verification support system wherein before a CPU mounted circuit is actually made such circuit model and an ICE model are made virtually and verification of such circuit model is performed using logic simulation on the ICE model; and when an error is found execution and verification up to the error point are omitted and are performed immediately after the error point to correct the error. A waveform, obtained by logic simulation, and a partially enlarged waveform thereof are displayed on different display regions for each time period and a display region is provided for saving a displayed waveform obtained when logic simulation is stopped. In another aspect of the invention, before an actual system is made by PLC, such PLC model is verified, and a test program is carried out to obtain verification when a process model is detached from the PLC model, and a sequence program is carried out by using a general purpose simulator with a debugging function. The verification system enhances efficiency of development of a CPU mounted circuit, and development of a sequence control system using a PLC.

    • A tap-weight controller of a matched filter includes a tapped delay line having a series of delay elements for receiving an incoming digital signal to produce successively delayed signals at successive taps of the delay line so that the signal at the center tap coincides with the output of a decision feedback equalizer (DFE). Correlation circuits are provided corresponding respectively to tap-weight multipliers of a transversal filter and to the taps of the delay line of the tap-weight controller. In each correlation circuit, correlation is detected between the output of the DFE and a signal from the corresponding tap of the delay line, and a signal indicating the detected correlation is integrated over a prescribed interval. An adder has a first input for receiving the detected correlation signal and a second input for receiving the integrated signal or a tap-weight control signal to produce a summed signal. The correlation signal is delayed for an interval equal to the prescribed interval and subtracted from the summed signal to produce an output which is applied to the adder as the tap weight control signal as well as to the corresponding tap-weight multiplier. The integrated signal is initially applied to the second input of the adder, and thereafter; the tap-weight control signal is applied to the adder to update the control signal at symbol intervals.

    • In a QAM demodulator, gain-controlled amplifiers are provided respectively for the in-phase and quadrature channel baseband components of the signal, and a set of data and error signals is recovered from the output of each gain-controlled amplifier. To determine the location of the signal point of each channel component, the QAM signal constellation is divided along the axis of the channel into two outermost regions A, an innermost region B and two intermediate regions C, and further divided along the axis of the channel into two outer regions E and an inner region D therebetween. In response to each set of data and error signals, the location of the signal point of each baseband component is determined with respect to the regions A, B and C to produce a first logical output signal and with respect to the regions D and E to produce a second logical output signal. Each of the gain-controlled amplifiers is controlled in response to the first logical output signal derived from the own channel and the second logical output signal derived from the other channel.
