    • PURPOSE:To provide a safety tire for a light truck, capable of increasing the durability of a carcass and of improving run-flat capability without entailing any damage to the rimming performance. CONSTITUTION:This is a safety tire that is provided with a carcass 6, having a turnover part 6b being turned over by a bead core 5 in a body part 6a leading to the bead core 5 of a bead part 4 by way of a sidewall part 3 from a tread part 2 and consisting of at least two sheets of carcass plies 6A and 6B being superposed on each other in and out, and each belt layer 7 to be situated inward the tread part 2 and at the outside of the carcass 6, and also a section nearly crescent-form rubber reinforced layer 9, where thickness is reduced in and out in the tire radial direction from the central part, in an inner part of the carcass 6 of the sidewall part 3. So, it is safety tire for a light truck installed with a rubber separate layer 10 forming a section nearly crescent form in a sidewall area held between a tread edge 2A and a tire maximum width position M in a state that rimming to the specified rim and specified internal pressure is filled up, and an interval between the carcass plies 6A, 6B and a body part 6a being superposed on each other in and out.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the running safety of a vehicle while restraining the drive comfortability from lowering, by providing a substantially crescent shape reinforcing layer having a built-up body composed of a hard rubber intermediate layer laid between soft rubber inner and outer layers, in each side wall section. CONSTITUTION:In a tread section, a belt layer 7 is laid radially outside of a carcass 6, and further a band layer 8 is laid radially outside of the belt layer 7. A crescent shape side wall reinforcing layer 10 is arranged at the inner surface of a side wall section 4, having a large thick wall center part 10A and taper-like inner and outer part 10C, 10B having their wall-thicknesses which are gradually reduced and having a three layer structure consisting of inner and outer layers A1, A2 and an intermediate layer A2. Further, the inner and outer layers A1, A2 are made of a soft rubber material having 50 to 70 of Shore hardness code and 10 to 30kg/cm of extensible modulus, and the intermediate layer is made of a hard rubber material having 70 to 90 of Shore hardness code and 30 to 70kg/cm of extensible modulus. Thus, a vehicle can runs at a relatively high speed by a relative long distance even in a deflated condition due to a puncture of the tire, thereby it is possible to enhance the running safety of the vehicle.

    • PURPOSE:To enable flat running by disposing a reinforcement rubber layer of crescent-shaped section extending toward crown and bead portions about the center of the side wall of the inner surface of a carcass layer, and applying other means. CONSTITUTION:A radial tire is reinforced with a carcass layer 40 of radial construction between a pair of beads 10 right and left, and both ply ends of the carcass layer 40 are wound from the axial inner side of a bead wire 11 to the outer side thereof. In this case, a reinforcement rubber layer 70 of crescent shape section is fitted about the center of the side wall 20 of the inner surface of the carcass layer 40, extending toward a crown part 30 and a bead part 10. Also, a rim fixing projection 80 mainly comprising hard rubber is provided, extending in a beak shape to the innermost radial positions of the bead side end 71 of the reinforcement rubber layer 70 and the bead part 10. And the end 81 of the rim fixing projection 80 is slant connected to the reinforcement rubber layer 70, thereby giving monolithic construction.

    • PURPOSE:To enable a continuous running at a high speed to be performed by forming a device in such a way that organic fiber cords which comprise a carcass of the plural number of plies, are made of specified raw materials, both a ratio of the thickness of the carcass, and a ratio of a crawn radius of a tread section to the width of the tire section when a tire is inflated are specified respectively. CONSTITUTION:A tire 1 is composed of a tread section 2, a pair of side walls 3, a pair of bead section 4, and a carcass 6 which substantially consists of the plural number of plies made of organic fiber cords where they intersect one another. And a rubber reinforcing layer 7 is substantially provided along the entire inner circumferential surface of the carcass 6. In this constitution, the above organic fiber cords are made of fatty acid polyamide fibers, the melting point of which is at least more than 250 deg., and a ratio of the thickness of the carcass 6 to the width of a tire section when a tire is inflated, is to be 0.013-0.053, and furthermore the thickness is specified to be substantially equal allover the entire tire. And a ratio of a crawn radius of the tread section 2 to the width of the tire when the tire is inflated, is specified to be 0.80-1.45.
