    • PURPOSE:To obtain an ion laser tube by using a plurality of hollow tube of electrically insulating substance strong against ion impact as discharge paths. CONSTITUTION:A plasma fine tube 3 to become a discharge path is constructed by inserting a good thermally conductive film slender tube 10 made of beryllia porcelain or the like precisely machined linearly into a quartz glass tube 5' (enclosure) to cover the inner wall of the tube 5' intimately. The space 11 formed by the tubes 10 becomes a discharge path, and the discharged heat is transitted in the space 11 to the tubular wall of the tubes 10. Coolant is introduced via conductor 6 to the tube 10 and is exhausted via conductor 7. The inner diameter of the beryllia porcelain tube 10 is not necessary to be formed so accurately nor straightly, and the enclosure 5' is not necessary to be formed to ensure against high temperature but may be formed of quartz glass. With this structure, an ion laser tube having excellent mechanical strength can be readily obtained.
