摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrying belt having high power of holding a recording medium regardless of its type.
SOLUTION: The carrying belt 3 is endlessly formed of metal such as stainless. Pawl protrusions 9 are provided one face of the carrying belt 3 for carrying the recording medium. When the recording medium is supplied from a supply part to the carrying belt 3, the recording medium is put on the protrusions 9 but pushed against the carrying belt 3 by a nip roller 7 and so the protrusions 9 are struck on the recording medium. The height of the protrusion 9 is lower than the thickness of the recording medium and so there are no influences on image formation/recording due to the passage through the recording medium. The protrusions 9 can be aligned on one face or provided at random.

The array of contact parts which has a small area and substantially not leaving the trace of contact on the media is formed by arranging the wheels 30, 31 and forming teeth at the ends of the wheels. Since the contact areas of the cylinders 11, 13 on the media are limited to the small area contact parts when the sheet media are conveyed and passed through the gap by a support sub system, the images are less disturbed by the trace of contact of the cylinders.
