    • PURPOSE: To automate the measurement of an ignition point and to obtain high accuracy and good reproducibillty by relatively simple constitution by filling a closed measuring chamber with a substance to be inspected and measuring internal pressure generated after ignition to confirm ignition. CONSTITUTION: A measuring laboratory dish 1 is filled with a predetermined amt. of a substance to be measured to be bonded to a lid 2 under pressure manually or automatically by a pressure bonding device 8. The lid 2 is heated to temp. lower than an estimated ignition point to wait the temp. rise of the measuring laboratory dish 1 accompanied by the temp. contact of the measuring laboratory dish 1 and the lid 2. Temp. is monitored and measured by temp. sensors 5, 6. After the temp. of the measuring laboratory disk 1 is made equal to that of the lid 2, the substance to be measured is ignited through an electrode 3 at a definite temp. interval while the temp. of the lid 2 is slowly raised. A rise in pressure immediately after the ignition of the substance to be measured is measured by a piezoelectric resistance type pressure signal generator 4 to set the temp. of the substance to be measured at a time of a rise in pressure to an ignition point.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform on-line measurement of a flash point simply and positively and to control the flash point efficiently, by measuring the flash point from a signal which is obtained by dividing the difference between gas concentrations at two points at specified temperatures by the difference between the specified temperatures at the two points. CONSTITUTION:Specified temperature setting coolers 4 and 5 are provided on a kerosene sample line 10, which is branched from a kerosene distillating line 8. Kerosene streams, which are set at specified temperatures with the coolers 4 and 5, are sent into vapor phase sample pots 6 and 7. Gases, which are evolved in the pots 6 and 7, are sent to gas quantity detectors 13 and 14 together with air streams. The detector 13 and 14 detect gas concentrations. The data are inputted into an arithmetic unit 15. Said detection of the concentrations is continuously performed on line. The arithmetic unit 15 receives the data signals of the gas concentrations, which are sent from the detectors 13 and 14. A signal is obtained by dividing the difference in gas concentrations of both gases by the difference between the preset temperatures. The signal is operated, and a signal corresponding to the flash point of the kerosene in a kerosene striper 2 is outputted. The output signal is further sent to a steam control valve 16, and the flash point of the kerosene is controlled.
