    • A process is disclosed for switching the current between successive stators of a railway system having a railway track and a railway vehicle and equipped with a long stator linear motor. The disclosed process starts from a conventional progressive switching process with a double current supply. While the current is switched from one stator section of a long stator winding line to the following stator section, the track cable associated with the stator sections to be switched and supplied with electric current by two substations is subdivided. The sections to be switched may thus be supplied each by a single substation. This prevents the one-sided thrust loss which occurs with the ordinary progressive switching process.

    • The invention relates to an automatic repeat request (ARQ) in which a first message (N1) is transmitted from a first computer unit (C1) to a second computer unit (C2). When a transmission fault is recognised in the first message (N1), a resignalling message (R) is encoded in the second computer unit (C2), and transmitted to the first computer unit (C1). The resignalling message (R) has at least one request field (ID) with the length of exactly one bit. A second message (N2) is requested with the request field (ID) and contains necessary additional information for fault correction of the first message (N1) or is the repetition of a message which has already been transmitted but has been lost. The second message (N2) is transmitted to the second computer unit (C2) and decoded in the second computer unit (C2) along with the first message (N1).
