    • A steam turbine plant has a steam turbine and an inlet steam collection line with an inlet steam collection line segment is provided. The inlet steam collection line supplies a steam consumer and is introduced into outlet steam flow of the steam turbine at an inlet steam introduction point of the inlet steam collection line segment. A supply steam device has a switching armature for connecting the supply steam device to the inlet steam collection line segment upstream of the inlet steam introduction point. The armature is triggered and switched such that if outlet steam pressure in the inlet steam collection line segment is lower than target pressure, the inlet steam collection line segment is connected to the supply steam device for conducting steam and disconnected between the armature and the inlet steam introduction point, otherwise the supply steam device is separated from the inlet steam collection line segment.

    • In a cement burning plant waste heat power generation system, an AQC boiler comprises an economizer, an evaporator and a superheater, and a PH boiler comprises a first evaporator and a superheater. A part of hot water heated by the economizer of the AQC boiler is fed through a flasher to the low pressure stage of a stream turbine, another part is superheated by the evaporator and the superheater of the AQC boiler, and further one part is superheated by the evaporator and the superheater of the PH boiler and these high pressure steams are fed to the high pressure stage of the stream turbine. The PH boiler is provided with a second evaporator on the outlet side of PH waste gas in addition to the evaporator and the superheater, and return hot water of the flasher is introduced into the second evaporator through a steam drum. Hot water heated by the second evaporator is introduced into the steam drum and its steam is fed to the low pressure stage of the stream turbine.

    • An improved cycle arrangement for a steam turbine system in which an auxiliary turbine drives a boiler feedwater pump. The turbine system includes a primary turbine driving an electric power generator. The primary turbine includes a high pressure section and a low pressure section. A boiler supplies steam to drive the primary and auxiliary turbines. A condenser recovers exhaust steam from the LP section and a plurality of feedwater heaters preheats condensate collected at the condenser and pumped back to the boiler. The system extracts steam from the HP turbine section for operating the auxiliary turbine. Extracted steam from the auxiliary turbine is isolated from the primary turbine by coupling the steam to a feedwater heater supplied solely from a corresponding extraction point of the auxiliary turbine. The exhaust steam from the auxiliary turbine is coupled directly to the condenser.

    • In a combined gas/steam power station plant which consists essentially of a fossil-fired gas turbine group and a steam circuit, with an exhaust heat boiler (11) in between, intercooling and reheat are provided to maximize the efficiency. The gas turbine group consists of two compressors (1, 2), of two combustion chambers (7, 9) and of two turbines (8, 10). Downstream of the first compressor (1), there is an intercooler (3) and on the cool side of this is placed an evaporator (4) which is in effective connection with the intercooler. The steam quantity formed in the evaporator (4) is introduced into a turbine (6) of the steam circuit, the result of this being a first improvement in efficiency. Downstream of the first turbine (8), there is a second combustion chamber (9) in which the exhaust gases from the first turbine (8) are processed to produce hot gases for the second turbine (10) . The large calorific potential still present in the exhaust gases from this second turbine (10) flows through the exhaust heat boiler (11) in which a maximized steam power is produced, the result of which is the second improvement in efficiency.

    • The integration of a petroleum refinery, or a petrochemical complex, with an off-site power facility in which the latter provides a vaporizable coolant for vaporization in the former. Vaporization is effected through indirect contact with one or more waste heat streams; the resulting vapors are expanded through a turbine, to a lower pressure, from the resulting motion of which power is generated. In most instances, the process generates more power than its connected load. Preferably, the coolant is indirectly contacted, at elevated pressure, with a plurality of refinery process streams in series and in the order of increasing temperature. Resulting vaporized coolant phases are passed through individual turbines, or through different stages of a multiple-stage turbine.
