    • PURPOSE: An electronic wedge brake (EWB) control device for rapid response and a method thereof are provided to maximize responsibility of an EWB of a hydraulic abrasion correction method in sudden braking. CONSTITUTION: An electronic wedge brake control device for rapid response comprises a pedal pressure sensor (110), an EWB pressure sensor (120), a control unit (130), a solenoid valve (140), and an EWB (150). The pedal pressure sensor measures previous pressure before solenoid oil pressurized in a brake pedal passes through the solenoid valve. The EWB pressure sensor measures pressure after the oil pressurized in the brake pedal passes through the solenoid valve. The control unit compares predetermined standard pressure and the difference of the pressure measured by the pedal pressure sensor and the EWB pressure sensor. The control unit closes the opened solenoid valve when the difference of the pressure is over the predetermined standard pressure and controls the EWB in order to generate braking power. A solenoid assisting force generated type single motor electric wedge brake system comprises an NSL(Non-Self Locking) type push rod axis(31) supporting the axial reaction force delivered from a pad when in operation, and a solenoid(41) which is controlled by an ECU(2) in order to restrict and release the push rod axis. The single motor electric wedge brake system has a wedge structure which is self-reinforced when pressurizing the pad with the drive force generated from a motor(13). The self-reinforced structure includes a wedge moving plate(17) moving an inner pad(7) of a wedge caliper(6) mounted on a wheel disc, and a wedge roller(19) implementing wedging action between the wedge moving plate and a wedge base plate(20) arranged in the opposite side.
